Man, I’ve been itching to dive back into the world of Pokémon, and today was the day! I decided to kick it old school and fire up Pokémon Ruby on my dusty old Game Boy Advance. You know, the one where you pick Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip to start your adventure?
Getting Started

First things first, I had to choose my starter. This is always a tough decision, but I went with my gut and picked Treecko. I just love that little green guy. After picking my starter, I went through the typical beginning stuff like meeting Professor Birch. I got the lowdown on the whole Pokémon world, and then, bam, I was off on my own adventure.
Exploring the World
- I started exploring the world, battling wild Pokémon and other trainers.
- I caught a few new Pokémon to add to my team.
- I even made it to the first gym and took on the gym leader. It was a tough battle, but Treecko pulled through and we got our first badge!
The Grind
After that, it was time to grind. I spent hours leveling up my Pokémon, trying to get them ready for the next challenge. I even tried that trick where you put your starter in the daycare near Mauville City and then offer it up on the GTS for other starters. It took a while, but I actually managed to snag a Torchic and a Mudkip that way! It was a bit of a slog, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right?
What’s Next?
So far, it’s been a blast revisiting Pokémon Ruby. It really takes me back to the good old days. I’m excited to see what the rest of the game has in store. I’ve heard the remakes aren’t that great, so I’m glad I stuck with the original. Maybe tomorrow, I’ll tackle the next gym or try to catch some legendary Pokémon. Who knows! That’s the beauty of these games; there’s always something new to discover.
Anyway, that’s it for my Pokémon Ruby update today. I might write more about it later if I do anything cool. Catch you later!
