Okay, so I was messing around with League of Legends, you know, as one does, and I got curious about when this whole Split 2 thing wraps up. I mean, I’ve been grinding, but I gotta plan my life too, right?
So, first thing I did was hit up Google. You know, the usual, type in “League of Legends Ranked Season 2024 Split 2 end date” and see what pops up. First few links are just news sites and stuff, nothing too official-looking. But then, bingo! I found a mention in some patch notes, I think it was 14.16, that said something about Split 2 ending on September 24th. Sweet, that’s a start.

But hey, I’m not one to just trust the first thing I see, especially when it comes to my precious ranked grind. I decided to double check and did another research on Google. And guess what? It confirmed that Split 2 starts on May 15, 2024, right after Split 1 finishes on May 14th. I was like, “Okay, this is good, we’re getting somewhere.”
Then I stumbled upon some other posts talking about how it ends at 11:59:59 PM on September 24th, local server time. Except for those fancy Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger players, they get to finish 15 minutes earlier, at 11:45 PM. Lucky them! And right after, like 12 hours later, Split 3 kicks off. That’s noon the next day. Man, Riot doesn’t mess around with these schedules.
- Searched: “League of Legends Ranked Season 2024 Split 2 end date”
- Found: Official patch notes (14.16) mentioning September 24th as the end date
- Confirmed: Split 2 starts May 15th, right after Split 1 ends on May 14th
- Learned: Split 2 ends at 11:59:59 PM local time on September 24th (11:45 PM for Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger)
- Discovered: Split 3 starts 12 hours after Split 2 ends, at noon the next day
I also found out that the whole of Season 14, not just this split, is gonna be done by January 9th, 2025. And since they split it into three parts, that January date is also when the last part ends. Good to know, I guess.
So yeah, that’s the story of how I figured out when I need to get my act together for the ranked ladder. It wasn’t too tough, but you never know with these things. Better safe than sorry, especially when it comes to climbing those ranks!
