Okay, so today I’m gonna talk about my little adventure with the Chasms in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. I heard there are 36 of these bad boys in total, and I was like, “Challenge accepted!” I wanted to find them all. I’m not a pro gamer or anything, but I do love a good exploration.
My first target was the Forest of Time chasm. I had read somewhere that this is a good starting point, plus it sounded cool. This one lets you get into the depths below the Hyrule Field. I geared up my Link, made sure I had enough snacks and weapons, and jumped right in.

Once I was down there, it was kinda dark and spooky, but also super interesting. I used the surface map to guide me through the depths. It was a neat trick I picked up from some forum. Basically, wherever there’s water on the surface, like a lake or a river, you’ll hit a wall in the depths. So, I started dropping markers where I knew there were shrines on the surface and used those to figure out my path. It worked like a charm!
I spent hours down there, dodging monsters, finding hidden spots, and just taking it all in. I even managed to unlock a good chunk of the depths this way. It felt like a huge accomplishment, even though it was, as others said, “shockingly easy” if you use the map trick.
After that, I got a bit more ambitious and decided to check out the Hebra Depths. I heard there’s a chasm on one of the islands near Rito Village, and there’s some quest you need to do there. I flew over to the islands, found the chasm pretty easily, and dove in.
The Hebra Depths were way colder and had a totally different vibe than the Hyrule Field depths. I had to make sure Link was dressed warmly. Exploring around, I found the area related to the quest and got that done. It was pretty fun, and I felt like a real adventurer.
Here are some of the things I did:
- Mapped out routes using the surface map and shrine locations.
- Explored the Forest of Time chasm and unlocked a big part of the depths.
- Found the Hebra Depths entrance and completed the related quest.
- Collected a bunch of resources and fought off some tough monsters.
What I learned
Honestly, it was a blast. The game really rewards you for exploring and trying different things. Using the map to navigate the depths was a game-changer. Plus, completing the quests and finding all those hidden spots gave me a real sense of achievement.
So yeah, that’s my Chasm adventure so far. I’m definitely going to try and find all 36. It’s a fun challenge, and it’s really cool to see all the different environments in the game. If you’re playing Tears of the Kingdom, I highly recommend giving the Chasms a go. Just remember the map trick, and you’ll have a great time!
Feel free to share your own experiences or tips in the comments. I’d love to hear how other people are tackling the Chasms!
