Okay, so I’ve been thinking about grabbing the Tekken 8 Collector’s Edition, and man, it’s been a bit of a ride figuring out if it’s worth the cash. I’m gonna break down what I found and how I went about making my decision.
First off, I started digging around to see what the deal is with the different versions of Tekken 8. Turns out, the deluxe edition is pretty sweet because it comes with the Year 1 Pass. This means you get four extra fighters that they’ll add later on. Plus, there’s a Gold Suit costume for all 32 characters and a Kinjin Avatar Skin. Sounds cool, right?

Deluxe Edition Contents
- Year 1 Pass: Four additional DLC fighters.
- Gold Suit Costume: For all 32 playable characters.
- Kinjin Avatar Skin.
Then I stumbled upon some gossip about how much it cost to make this game. The producer, this Katsuhiro Harada guy, mentioned that Tekken 8 cost like two or three times more to develop than Tekken 7. He was saying this because people were talking about the game having live-service stuff, which can sometimes mean more money to spend later.
But wait, there’s more! I found out about the preorder bonuses. If you preorder, you get a Paul Phoenix avatar costume set for free. And if you’re getting it for PS5, you also snag two free avatar skins, Mokujin and Tetsujin. Not bad, huh?
Preorder Bonuses
- Paul Phoenix Avatar Costume Set.
- PS5 Exclusive: Mokujin and Tetsujin avatar skins.
Now, about that Collector’s Edition. It includes the full game, a folded box, a burning chain metal plate, and some corporation stickers. I thought the burning chain metal plate is a nice touch, pretty unique for a collector’s item.

- Corporation Stickers.
After mulling it over, I decided to weigh the pros and cons. The extra characters and the exclusive items in the Collector’s Edition are tempting, especially since I’m a big fan of the series. And knowing that they poured a lot more into making this game, it kinda makes me feel like I’m getting something really special.
So, yeah, I took the plunge and preordered the Collector’s Edition. I figured, why not? It’s not every day you get to snag a game that’s had so much put into it, plus all those extra goodies. I’m pretty stoked to get my hands on it and see what all the fuss is about!
