Okay, so, I’ve been hooked on this Animal Crossing: New Horizons game for a while now. I was trying to get my museum filled with art, you know, to make it look all fancy. And I heard about this “Academic Painting” that’s supposed to be based on Leonardo Da Vinci’s famous Vitruvian Man.
So, there’s this sly fox named Redd who shows up on my island sometimes. He’s got this little boat full of art pieces. I heard that he sometimes sells fakes, and I was super worried about getting ripped off.

First, I started checking online for what this painting was supposed to look like. It was easy enough. I found some pictures and descriptions and got a good idea of the real deal.
Then, I waited for Redd to show up. It took a few days, but finally, his boat was there. I went in, all excited, and he had the Academic Painting! But I had to be careful.
- I looked closely at the painting in the game. The real one doesn’t have a coffee stain in the top right corner, it’s a clean paper, so I made sure to check for that.
- I also compared it to the pictures of the real Vitruvian Man I found online. I looked at the guy’s pose, the circle and square around him, and all those little details.
It looked legit! No coffee stain, and everything else seemed to match up. So, I took a chance and bought it. I was nervous, but I had a good feeling about it.
The next day, I donated the painting to Blathers at the museum, holding my breath. And guess what? He confirmed it was real! I was so stoked! I actually got a genuine Academic Painting for my museum. It’s now proudly displayed, and I feel like a real art connoisseur.
Honestly, it’s a bit of a gamble with Redd, but it’s also kind of fun. Just do your research, and you might end up with some awesome art for your museum too.
