So, I’ve been grinding in Warzone lately, trying to figure out which weapons really slap. I’m not a huge fan of sniper rifles, they’re just too slow for my playstyle. That’s why I’ve been diving deep into the marksman rifle category. These things are supposed to bridge the gap between assault rifles and snipers, right? Well, let me tell you, some of them are absolute beasts.
I started by just messing around with all of them, you know, getting a feel for each one. Initially, I was all over the place, just trying to figure out how the rifles would operate at a distance of 300–600 meters. After some serious trial and error, I started to narrow it down. I was looking for something that could drop an enemy quickly, but wouldn’t leave me totally exposed when reloading or aiming down sights.

The Kar98k
First off, the Kar98k. This thing is a monster. Seriously, it’s basically a sniper rifle in disguise. One shot to the head, and it’s game over for your opponent. Even two to the body will do the trick. It’s got great mobility too, so you can move around quickly and line up those shots. I spent a good chunk of time just practicing with the Kar98k, getting used to its feel. It quickly became my go-to for those mid to long-range engagements.
- Headshots are king: Aim for the head, and you’ll be dropping enemies left and right.
- Mobility is key: Use the Kar98k’s mobility to your advantage, repositioning quickly to get the best angle.
Tempus Torrent Test
Then I jumped into testing the Tempus Torrent. Honestly, this one felt a bit different. It’s not quite as powerful as the Kar98k, but it’s still pretty solid. What really got me hooked were the attachments. I slapped on the ZLR Talon 5 muzzle and the 24 Outreach 4 barrel, and boom – the thing transformed. I was hitting shots at ranges I didn’t think were possible with this gun. After I messed with some setting, 1.08, -0.29 for the muzzle and 0.35, 0.28 for the barrel, it became super good.
- ZLR Talon 5: This muzzle really helps with recoil control.
- 24 Outreach 4: This barrel extends the range significantly.
Sniper Rifles
I also experimented with a few sniper rifles, just to compare. The KATT-AMR caught my eye because it can one-shot kill at any range without specific attachments. It packs a crazy punch, but man, it’s slow. I mean, really slow. I felt like a sitting duck every time I tried to use it. It has good bullet velocity, though.
Final Thoughts
So, after all this testing, where did I land? Well, for me, the Kar98k is still king. It’s just so satisfying to use, and it rewards accuracy like no other gun in the game. However, the Tempus Torrent with the right attachments is a very close second. It’s a bit more forgiving than the Kar98k, and it can definitely hold its own in a fight. If you’re not into that whole one-shot-kill thing or you’re just not that accurate, the Tempus Torrent might actually be better for you. And as for sniper rifles like the KATT-AMR, well, they’re just not my cup of tea. Too slow, too clunky. Maybe they work for some people, but not for me.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to personal preference. But if you’re looking for a solid marksman rifle that can compete with the best, I highly recommend giving the Kar98k and the Tempus Torrent a try. You won’t be disappointed.
