I’ve been grinding a lot of TFT lately, and one unit that’s been catching my eye is Yasuo. Today, I finally cracked the code on what I think is his best-in-slot (BiS) item build, and let me tell you, it’s a game-changer.
So, I started my journey today determined to figure out the optimal way to build Yasuo. I knew he was a 1-cost unit, so he’s available right from the get-go, which is convenient. I also knew from playing against him that he’s got this annoying dash and shield ability, plus a whirlwind thing that knocks people up. That’s a lot of potential for just one gold.

I hopped into a few games, experimenting with different items. At first, I tried some of the recommendations I found online. One build suggested Rapid Firecannon, Runaan’s Hurricane, and Quicksilver. Seemed okay, but it didn’t feel like I was getting the most out of him. Another build recommended Jeweled Gauntlet, Runaan’s, and Quicksilver. This one felt a little better in terms of damage, but he was still squishy.
Then I saw another suggestion that was way different: double Gargoyle Stoneplate and a Bloodthirster. This one I thought was crazy at first. I mean, two Gargoyles? But I gave it a shot, and it was actually kinda nuts. This build made Yasuo surprisingly tanky, especially when he activates his shield. And with the Bloodthirster, he was sustaining through fights like a beast.
After trying this double Gargoyle and Bloodthirster build for a few games, I started to understand why it works so well. Yasuo’s ability does a lot more damage on every third cast, so making him tankier means he can survive long enough to get those big hits off. Plus, the Bloodthirster keeps him healthy enough to keep dashing and slashing.
- Initial Testing: I jumped into several games, trying out various item combinations on Yasuo.
- RFC, Hurricane, QSS: This build focused on attack speed and on-hit effects. It was decent, but Yasuo still felt vulnerable.
- JG, Hurricane, QSS: This build provided more ability power but didn’t solve the survivability issue.
- The Breakthrough: I stumbled upon the double Gargoyle and Bloodthirster combination. Intrigued, I equipped Yasuo with these items.
- Observation: With double Gargoyle’s, Yasuo became incredibly durable. His shield felt stronger, and he could withstand more damage.
- Bloodthirster’s Role: The addition of Bloodthirster provided excellent sustain. Yasuo could now heal through damage and stay in the fight longer.
- Third Cast Synergy: The tankiness from double Gargoyle’s allowed Yasuo to consistently reach his third cast, which deals significantly more damage.
My Experimentation Process:
So, after a full day of TFT and a whole lot of trial and error, I’m pretty convinced that double Gargoyle Stoneplate and Bloodthirster is the way to go for Yasuo. It might seem weird, but trust me, give it a try. You might be surprised at how much of a difference it makes. I’d say this build truly is Yasuo’s BiS in the current set.
