Okay, so today I wanted to play around with casting choices for a live-action Kratos, just for fun. I’ve been thinking about it for a while, and I finally decided to sit down and hash it out.
My Kratos Picks
-
First, I considered Jason Momoa. I mean, the guy’s got the look, right? Plus, he’s done a bunch of action roles like in See, Game of Thrones, and Aquaman, so you know he could handle the physicality of Kratos. I started looking at photos of him side-by-side with Kratos and, yeah, I could see it.
-
Then I started thinking, “What about Alexander Skarsgrd?” He was great in The Northman, and he definitely has that intense, brooding thing going on. I pulled up some clips of him from that movie, and I thought he could do a pretty solid job. He might not be as physically imposing, but he could nail the emotional side, you know?
-
And then I remembered, who’s the voice and the motion capture guy for the recent games? Christopher Judge! This dude is Kratos. He’s got the voice, he’s got the build, and he understands the character inside and out. Honestly, I think he’d be the best pick. I spent a good chunk of time watching interviews with him, and the more I saw, the more convinced I became. He knows way more than any other actor.
-
The last one, I thought about Vin Diesel. He’s got that bald head, the deep voice, and he’s always in action movies like Fast Furious. I’m not 100% sold, but I think he could pull it off. It would be a different take on Kratos, for sure. I tried to picture him with the red tattoos, and… well, it’s interesting.
Atreus Options
-
Now for Atreus, I had a few ideas. There’s this kid, Walker Scobell, who was in The Adam Project. He’s a good actor, still young and up-and-coming, and I think he could capture Atreus’s mix of innocence and strength. I watched some of his scenes from The Adam Project again, and he really impressed me.
-
Then there’s Iain Armitage from Young Sheldon. He’s a bit more of a known quantity, and he’s got that smart, inquisitive vibe. I could see him pulling off the more intellectual side of Atreus. I watched some clips of him too, and he’s definitely got the acting chops.
-
And then there is also Billy Barratt. He was good in the movie Blinded by the Light. I re-watched a few scenes of him, and yeah, I thought he could do a decent job as Atreus.
And Freya?
-
I also started thinking about Freya. There’s this line that always gets me, “Kratos loves Freya as a true friend.” It’s such a complex relationship. I tried to think of actresses who could pull off that mix of strength, vulnerability, and, well, being a goddess, it’s a tough one!
So yeah, that’s what I’ve been doing today. It was fun to think through these choices and see who I thought could bring these characters to life. What do you guys think?
