So, today I wanted to jump into some “MLB The Show” and, guess what? The servers were down for maintenance. Ugh, talk about a bummer. I had everything planned out – snacks, drinks, the whole nine yards. I fired up the game, ready to hit some dingers, but nope, maintenance time.
First thing I did was a double-take. “Are you serious?” I thought. I mean, it’s not the end of the world, but still, you get hyped up for some game time, and then bam, you’re stuck staring at a maintenance screen. It’s like ordering a pizza and finding out they’re out of cheese or something.

Anyway, I decided to check their Twitter account, because that’s where they usually post updates. Sure enough, there was a tweet saying they were doing some work on the servers. At least they gave a heads-up, I guess. But it still doesn’t make waiting any easier, you know?
Here’s what I did while I waited:
- Checked Twitter: Like I said, I hopped on Twitter to see what was up. That’s where I found the official word on the maintenance.
- Refreshed the Game: Okay, maybe this was a bit hopeful, but I kept trying to log in every now and then, just in case they finished early. No luck though.
- Grabbed More Snacks: Hey, a guy’s gotta eat, right? Since I had some unexpected free time, I stocked up on some more snacks. Fuel for when the game comes back online, obviously.
- Watched Some Videos: I figured I might as well make the most of the downtime. So, I watched some videos of other people playing, you know, to get my “MLB The Show” fix somehow.
- Tried to Wait Patiently: This was the hardest part, haha. I just wanted to play! But, I knew they were probably fixing some important stuff, so I tried to be patient.
Eventually, the servers did come back online. It felt like forever, but when that login screen finally popped up, it was a glorious moment. I jumped back in, ready to pick up where I left off. All in all, it wasn’t the gaming session I had planned, but hey, that’s life. Sometimes you gotta roll with the punches, even if those punches come in the form of server maintenance.
I still love the game!
