Man, let me tell you about this whole Genesect Burn Drive thing in Pokémon GO. It’s been a wild ride, and I gotta share all the messy details.
So, first off, I jumped into some raids. The second I saw that Burn Drive Genesect pop up, it got unlocked in my Pokédex. Just like that. But here’s the kicker – I wanted that Pokédex entry to be fully complete, you know? Gotta catch ’em all, right?

I remembered something about these Burn Drives and Shock Drives from way back in the Pokémon Black and Black 2 days. Turns out, those are key. I dug around and found out that in the main games, you gotta win a ton of battles in the Battle Tower to snag one. But in GO? No such luck. These things are event-exclusive, which is a real pain.
Then there’s the whole Techno Blast mess. Each Genesect form has its own special charged move, and this Techno Blast thing is supposed to change type depending on the Drive. But get this – right now, you can’t even get Techno Blast without using one of those fancy Elite Charged TMs. What a headache!
- I dove into some research about this Burn Drive Genesect. Max CP, HP, moves – the whole nine yards.
- I even watched that old Pokémon movie, “Genesect and the Legend Awakened,” just to see these Drives in action. They looked pretty cool, I gotta admit.
Turns out, in the movie, the Drives not only changed Techno Blast’s type but also helped tell the different Genesect apart. That’s kinda neat, but it doesn’t really help me in GO, sadly.
The Grind Begins
I spent days raiding, hoping to get lucky and find a Genesect with good stats. It was a total grind. I joined groups, coordinated with other players, and spent way too many raid passes. Finally, after what felt like forever, I caught a decent one. Not perfect, but good enough for me.
Now, here’s where it gets interesting. I heard that Chill Drive Genesect is actually the best one for Master League. Something about it having some good resistances. So, what did I do? I started grinding for that one, too! More raids, more passes, more headaches.
Honestly, this whole Genesect thing has been a rollercoaster. It’s cool to have these different forms and all, but the way you get them in GO is just a mess. Event-exclusive, random stats, and don’t even get me started on the Elite Charged TMs again.
But hey, I’m a Pokémon GO player. We’re used to the grind, right? I’ll keep at it, and maybe one day I’ll have a perfect Burn Drive Genesect with Techno Blast. Until then, I’ll just keep on raiding and hoping for the best.
It is a long journey, and I will keep going. It is all about playing, after all. I will enjoy the process and keep you guys updated.
