Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this “Magic: The Gathering” thing for a while now, and let me tell you, it gets pretty wild. Today, I want to talk about this deck I built around Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines. It’s been a ride, so buckle up.
First off, I got my hands on this Elesh Norn card. People online were hyping it up, saying it’s super strong and all that. And yeah, it looked pretty cool, with all this talk about New Phyrexia and some war. I didn’t really get the story, but the card seemed powerful, so I was in.

I started by just throwing Elesh Norn into some decks I already had. The forums and websites, like this one called *, were full of ideas. People were saying it fits right in and makes your decks better without even trying. So, I did just that, I added it to my decks and tried it. It felt like cheating, honestly. Things that were already good suddenly became ridiculous.
Then, I got a bit more serious. I wanted to build a deck specifically around Elesh Norn. I saw some folks online talking about a “cedh” version, which I think is some kind of competitive format. They had this deck listed for, like, over two grand! I’m not about that life, but it gave me some ideas.
I started looking at other cards that work well with Elesh Norn. I wanted to do all sorts of wild things. There were a ton of suggestions. I tried a bunch of different combinations, seeing what clicked. Some cards were duds, others were amazing. It was a lot of trial and error, tweaking things here and there, swapping cards in and out.
Building this deck was kind of addictive, I have to say. I spent hours just looking at cards, reading what people were saying online, and trying to find the right cards that I actually own. I’d win a game and feel like a genius, then lose the next one and go back to the drawing board. It was frustrating but also super rewarding when things started to work.
After a lot of tinkering, I finally got the deck to a place where I’m pretty happy with it. It’s not perfect, and I’m sure there are a million ways to make it better, but it’s mine, you know? And it’s been a blast to play. It all started with that one Elesh Norn card. It’s a little crazy that I decided to build this deck around that one card, but it’s been super fun seeing my deck come to life. I’ve been playing against my friends and some strangers online with this deck and I’ve seen it beat a lot of decks!
So yeah, that’s my Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines deck story. It’s been a wild journey, and I’m still learning and tweaking things. But that’s the fun of it, right?
