Today I really wanted to mess around with FIFA 23, and I thought I’d start by checking out this Sandro Tonali guy. I’d heard some buzz about him, and figured why not give him a try.
First off, I booted up the game and went straight to the player database to see what Tonali’s deal was. Found him easily enough – he’s an Italian dude playing for Milan, a central defensive midfielder. His overall rating was 84, which isn’t too shabby. But here’s the kicker – his potential is 87. That got me thinking, this guy could really grow into something special.
I decided to start a new career mode with Milan, just to focus on developing Tonali. From what I gathered, he was born in 2000, so he’s still pretty young, 22 or 23 in the game. Plenty of room to improve, you know? I looked into his stats a bit more – his Winter Wildcards card was rated 87 and his TOTS card was rated 92, those are some big numbers. He is 181cm tall, not bad for a midfielder.
I started playing matches and made sure to give Tonali plenty of game time. I used him in his natural CDM position, but also tried him out in a more central midfield role sometimes. He’s got 3 skill moves, so he’s not gonna be pulling off any fancy tricks, but that’s not really his job. It’s all about that solid defensive work and distributing the ball. I even saw that he would be banned for 10 months because of the gambling.
As I played more and more, I could see Tonali’s stats slowly but surely improving. It was awesome to watch him develop. He was becoming a real rock in my midfield, breaking up plays, intercepting passes, and just generally making life difficult for the opposition. Then I noticed that he’s now playing for Newcastle in the Premier League. He’s now rated 85 with the same 87 potential. This guy’s going places.
I also took a look at some of his special cards, like the Winter Wildcards and Team of the Season (TOTS) versions. Man, those cards are insane! His ratings get a huge boost, and he basically turns into a world-beater. I managed to snag his TOTS card in Ultimate Team, and let me tell you, he was a game-changer. Suddenly, my midfield felt invincible. I can see why people were excited to use his cards last year.
Honestly, playing with Tonali in FIFA 23 has been a blast. He’s the kind of player that might not be super flashy, but he’s just so effective. Watching him grow and develop has been really rewarding, and using those souped-up special cards is just pure fun. If you’re looking for a solid CDM to build your team around, you can’t go wrong with this guy.
