Today, I decided to tackle the Monza circuit in F1 24. This track, man, it’s known for its insane speeds. I mean, Juan Pablo Montoya set the fastest ever F1 lap here back in 2004, hitting over 260 km/h! So yeah, it’s a beast.
I hopped into the game and started experimenting. First thing I noticed was this new “Engine Braking” setting they’ve added. It’s under “Transmission” in the car setup. I started tinkering with it – cranked it up, and boom, the car started oversteering like crazy whenever I lifted off the throttle. Then I dialed it back, and the car felt way more stable going into corners. I played with it and finally found the perfect number!

Monza is all about long straights and heavy braking zones. I spent a good chunk of time just practicing my braking points. I wanted to make sure I was maximizing my speed on the straights but not overshooting the corners. It took a while, but I started to get the hang of it. After hours of work, my car was really perfect for me, especially in the final turn!
Then I focused on overtaking. This is where you see most of the action at Monza. I was trying different lines, different braking points, trying to figure out the best way to get past the other cars. There’s this one spot in particular where you can really make a move if you get it right. It’s tricky, but when you pull it off, it’s so satisfying!
Honestly, I spent hours on this. But it was worth it. I finally got a setup that I was really happy with. I was flying down those straights, nailing the corners, and making some sweet overtakes. My friends saw me playing and wanted me to teach them. Hahahahaha.
It’s amazing how much you can tweak these cars in F1 24. I went deep today, but that’s what makes it so rewarding. You put in the work, and you can really feel the difference on track.
If you’re playing F1 24, definitely give Monza a go. It’s a challenging track, but it’s a blast. And mess around with that Engine Braking setting – it can make a big difference! If you have any other questions, you can ask me freely!
