Back then, they started out with just 40 champions, reckon it wasn’t much, but folks still had a good time with ’em. Champions like Alistar, Fiddlesticks, and Teemo, they was already there in the start, makin’ sure folks had somethin’ to holler ’bout.
Now, since them early days, Riot Games, that’s the company what makes the game, been real busy. They been addin’ new champions every so often, keepin’ it all excitin’ like. As of June this year, they done got themselves a total of 168 champions. Ain’t that somethin’? I swear, feels like every time I turn around there’s another one poppin’ up, all fancy with new abilities and whatnot. Been ’bout 112 days since the last one showed up, so I reckon folks are gettin’ a bit antsy waitin’ on the next one.
Now lemme tell ya, these champions don’t just come outta nowhere. Riot, they been pretty steady with their releases. Back in 2012, they started a good rhythm with new ones comin’ out just ’bout every year. Why, in 2013, they done had a few new champions pop up, and it just kept goin’ like that, year after year. Some years had more, some had less, but they never did just stop, no sir. I remember when Sett came out in January 2020, and then Lillia showed up in July of the same year, and Yone, he wasn’t far behind in August. Them three was all the talk fer a while back then.
It ain’t just ’bout addin’ new champions, though. Sometimes, they go back and tweak the older ones too, like givin’ ’em a new lick of paint. That way, them old champions can still keep up with the fancy new ones. It’s like fixin’ up an old tractor – might still run good, but a little bit of tune-up sure makes a difference.
