Okay, so I’ve been grinding Apex Legends for a while now, and one thing I always find myself thinking about is which weapons are actually worth picking up. I mean, there are so many, right? So, I decided to make my own tier list, and let me tell you, it was quite the journey.
First thing I did was jump into the firing range. I grabbed every single weapon, from the pistols to the snipers, and just started messing around. I spent hours in there, just testing out the recoil patterns, damage per shot, reload speeds, all that good stuff. My fingers were starting to cramp up, but it was worth it.

Then came the real test – actually using these weapons in matches. I played round after round, making sure to pick up different guns each time. I kept a notebook by my side, jotting down my thoughts after every firefight. “R-301 feels super smooth,” I wrote, “but the Havoc’s wind-up time is a killer.” And of course, I had to note down, “Mozambique is still trash,” with a sad face.
- I spent countless hours in matches, really putting these weapons to the test.
- I made sure to use every weapon to get a real feel for each one.
- I jotted down notes during and after every encounter, noting what worked and what didn’t.
After a ton of games and a whole lot of notes, I started to see some patterns. Some guns, like the R-301 and the R-99, were consistently performing well. They felt good to use, and I was racking up kills with them. Others, like the P2020 and, yes, the Mozambique, just kept letting me down. It was like bringing a knife to a gunfight sometimes.
Sorting It All Out
With all this data, I started categorizing the weapons. I used a simple S, A, B, C, D ranking system. The S-tier was reserved for the absolute best, the guns that felt amazing and were super effective. The A-tier was for really solid choices, the B-tier for the ones that were okay but had some drawbacks, and so on. The D-tier, well, that’s where the Mozambique ended up. Some things never change.
Creating this tier list was a lot of work, I gotta say. But it was also a lot of fun, and it definitely made me a better player. I’m not saying my tier list is the definitive guide or anything, but it’s based on my own experience, and I think it’s a pretty good starting point for anyone trying to figure out what weapons to use in Apex.
Oh and for me, right now the best combo is an SMG and something with a good range, like a rifle or a sniper. I like the R99 and the Prowler.
