Okay, here is my sharing of the Mega Houndoom raid in Pokemon Go:
So, I saw that Mega Houndoom was back in Pokemon Go raids, and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” I mean, it’s a cool-looking Pokemon, and I didn’t have a good one yet. Plus, Mega Energy is always useful. I gathered a few friends who also play the game. We were all at different levels, but we figured we could take it down together.

We met up at a local gym that had the Mega Houndoom raid. We checked out the recommended counters online beforehand. It’s a Fire and Dark-type, so Water, Ground, Fighting, and Rock-types are the way to go. I made sure my heavy hitters like Kyogre, Groudon, and Machamp were powered up and ready.
The First Try
- We jumped into the raid, and right off the bat, things got a bit rough.
- Mega Houndoom’s attacks were hitting hard, especially its Fire-type moves.
- We were doing decent damage, but it wasn’t enough.
- We timed out before we could defeat it.
Adjustments and Second Attempt
We talked it over, and realized we needed to optimize our teams a bit more. Some of us switched to different Pokemon, focusing more on those super-effective types. We also decided to dodge more, even if it meant sacrificing some DPS. The second time around, we were more prepared. We dodged more effectively, and our counters were doing their job. It was still a tough battle, but we could see the progress.
Finally, with just a few seconds left on the clock, we took it down! It was such a relief, and we all cheered. I caught the Houndoom, and it had pretty decent stats, which was a nice bonus. Plus, we all got a good amount of Mega Energy.
It was a good reminder that even “moderately difficult” raids can be challenging, and it is always best to cooperate. Teamwork and strategy definitely paid off in the end.
