Okay, so I’ve been messing around with MLB The Show 24, and let me tell you, the sidearm pitchers are a whole different ball game. I wanted to share my experience and what I’ve learned so far, ’cause it’s been a wild ride.
Getting Started with Sidearm Pitchers
First off, I jumped into the game and started looking for these so-called sidearm pitchers. I’ve always been a fan of the traditional overhand throw, you know, guys like Shohei Ohtani, who’s a total beast with a 99 rating. But I heard about this guy, Tyler Rogers, who’s apparently the top dog when it comes to sidearm pitching. He’s got an 83 rating, which doesn’t sound as high as Ohtani, but for a submarine pitcher, that’s pretty darn good.
Experimenting with the Pitch
So, I picked Tyler Rogers and started a few games. The first thing I noticed was how weird it felt. I mean, it’s like throwing a frisbee instead of a baseball. The ball comes out from way down low, and the movement is just nuts. I was throwing pitches that curved in ways I didn’t even know were possible. I started by mixing up his pitches, trying to figure out which ones worked best. It took a while, but I started to get the hang of it.
Playing Against the Computer
Playing against the AI, I could see why these sidearm pitchers are so effective. The batters were totally thrown off. They’d swing and miss, or make weak contact. I even struck out some of the best hitters in the game. It was like they’d never seen anything like it before. I was racking up wins, and it felt awesome.
Trying Out Multiplayer
Then I decided to take my newfound skills online. This is where things got interesting. I played against real people, and let me tell you, the reactions were priceless. Some people got really frustrated. They’d message me, saying things like, “What kind of pitch is that?” or “That’s not fair!” It was hilarious. But I also played against some guys who knew how to handle sidearm pitchers. They were patient, waiting for the right pitch, and they could hit it pretty well. It was a good challenge, and it taught me that I still had a lot to learn.
My Favorite Sidearm Pitcher
After trying out a few different guys, I gotta say, Tyler Rogers is my favorite. He’s just so consistent, and his pitches are so deceptive. I feel like I can really mess with the batters’ heads when I’m using him. I’ve won some tough games because of him, and he’s definitely my go-to guy now.
Looking Ahead
I’m still learning, and I know there’s a lot more to master. I’ve heard about other great sidearm pitchers like Carl Mays, Dizzy Dean and Randy Johnson from way back when. I want to see how they compare to the modern guys. I’m also planning to experiment with different pitch combinations and strategies. It’s like a whole new world of pitching has opened up to me, and I’m excited to see where it takes me.
