Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this “healer rankings” thing in World of Warcraft, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I wanted to figure out which healer class is the best, you know, the top dog, especially for this Mythic+ stuff and the new The War Within expansion.
Getting Started
First, I dove into the game and started leveling up different healers. I tried out a bunch of them, like the Discipline Priest, Holy Paladin, and a few others. I played through some dungeons and raids to get a feel for each class. It was a grind, but hey, someone’s gotta do it.

Digging into Data
Then, I started looking at this Warcraft Logs thing. Apparently, it’s the place to go for all the juicy data on how well each class is doing. I spent hours on there, comparing stats and all that jazz. I even checked out some tier lists that get updated like every day, which was pretty cool. These lists rank the healers based on a whole bunch of different things, so you can really get into the nitty-gritty.
Experimenting with Specs
Next, I started experimenting with different specs. You know how in WoW, you can customize your character with different talents and abilities? Well, I tried out a ton of different combinations to see what worked best. I even saw that some of the top guilds run multiple Discipline Priests because they’re just that good. Who knew?
Comparing Notes
I also chatted with some other players in the game and on forums. I wanted to see what other folks were saying about the different healers. Some people swore by the Holy Paladin, saying it has a “strong kit” and is a must-have for raids. Others were all about that Discipline Priest, calling it the “S-Tier” of healers. It was a mixed bag, but it was good to hear different perspectives.
Putting It All Together
After all that, I started to form my own opinions. I mean, the data is one thing, but actually playing the game and feeling out the different classes is a whole other ball game. I found that, for me, it really depends on the fight. Sometimes you need a healer who can dish out a ton of healing all at once, and other times you need someone who can keep everyone topped off over a longer period. I played with 2 tanks, 4 or 5 healers, depending on how heavy the heals are for a fight and the rest as dps.
My Two Cents
So, what’s the verdict? Honestly, it’s tough to say there’s one “best” healer. It really comes down to your playstyle and what you enjoy. Like one person on the forums said, “Pick whichever feels right for you.” I think that’s pretty solid advice. Me? I’m still experimenting, but I’ve been having a blast trying out all the different healers and seeing what they can do. There’s something satisfying about keeping your team alive through a tough fight, no matter which class you’re playing.
Anyway, that’s my take on this whole “healer rankings” thing. It’s been a fun little project, and I’ve definitely learned a lot. If you’re thinking about rolling a healer in WoW, I say go for it! Just be prepared to put in some time and effort to really master your chosen class.
Oh, and one last thing. Remember, these rankings and tier lists are always changing. What’s good today might not be as good tomorrow, so don’t get too hung up on the numbers. Just play what you enjoy and have fun with it!
