Okay, so today was a real pain in the butt. I just wanted to chill out and play some League of Legends, but guess what? The freaking game wouldn’t connect to the server! Yeah, you heard that right – “unable to connect to server.” I was like, “Are you kidding me?”
First things first, I checked my internet. I mean, that’s the obvious thing, right? Everything else was working fine. I could browse websites, watch videos, everything. So it wasn’t my internet. I was relieved about that, but also really pissed as I really wanted to play some league!

Then, I restarted my computer. You know, the classic turn it off and on again. Sometimes that just magically fixes stuff. But nope, not this time. Still the same annoying “unable to connect” message. I’m starting to get a little worried at this point. Is it just me or is the server actually down?
Trying to be the real tech guy
- Then I did a search online, and found that it was possible to check the server status of League of Legends. So I did that. However, everything seemed to be normal.
- I even messed around with my router settings a bit, even though I don’t really know what I’m doing there. Forwarded some ports, changed some numbers, you know, the usual tech voodoo. Still nothing. Maybe I made it worse, who knows?
- I updated my game client. Maybe there was a new patch I missed? Nope, still no luck. I sat on the chair for almost 15 minutes just to update it. So stupid!
Finally, I was like, “Screw it, I’ll just restart the game.” So I closed the game completely, logged out of my account, and then I launched it again. And… BAM! It worked! I was so relieved, but also kind of annoyed that it was such a simple fix all along. I mean I did so many unneccessary things!
So yeah, that’s my story of how I spent like an hour trying to fix a problem that was solved by simply restarting the game. Just another day in the life, I guess. At least, I can finally play some league now!
