So, I’ve been messing around with this game, Genshin Impact, for a while now, and let me tell you, the catalyst users are something else. I started tinkering with different characters and weapons, trying to figure out what works best. It’s a wild ride, I gotta say.
First off, I got my hands on Barbara. She’s a freebie, a 4-star Hydro healer from the Favonius Church. Initially, I thought, “Okay, a healer, that’s useful.” I started leveling her up, throwing some basic artifacts on her, and just trying to get a feel for how she plays. She’s decent, you know? Keeps the team alive, which is always a plus.
Then I started looking into the actual weapons, the catalysts themselves. I stumbled upon this thing called the Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds. The description alone made me think, “This is it.” I equipped it on one of my damage-dealers, started swinging, and boom! The damage output was insane. I was just mowing down enemies left and right. It felt like cheating, almost.

Naturally, I got curious about other catalysts. I found another one, the Skyward Atlas. This thing is apparently the best for any catalyst DPS character. High base attack, ATK% substat—it’s a beast. I slapped it on another character and, yep, same story. The numbers were just ridiculous. I started clearing domains and bosses faster than I ever had before.
I dove deeper into the rabbit hole, trying to find the best 4-star options. I came across a lot of chatter about Ningguang, who is apparently a top-tier 4-star DPS. People were saying to get used to her clunky charged attack, but once you do, she hits like a truck. Plus, she’s super flexible. I gave her a shot, and they weren’t kidding. After some practice, I was pulling off some crazy combos with her. She is one of my favorites now.
And guess what? I heard they are releasing a new 5-star character in the 4.1 update, some guy named Wriothesley. Apparently, he’s going to be a Cryo catalyst user, the first of his kind. And also the first 5-star Cryo male character. I’m pretty hyped to see how he plays. I managed to save up some Primogems, so hopefully, I can snag him when he drops.

- Barbara with some random healing artifacts.
- A DPS character rocking the Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds.
- Another DPS wielding the mighty Skyward Atlas.
- Ningguang with the Dodoco Tales, it is a strong 4 star.
So yeah, that’s my journey with catalyst users in Genshin Impact so far. It’s been a blast figuring out all the different combinations and seeing these characters in action. I’m definitely going to keep experimenting and see what other crazy stuff I can pull off. Who knows, maybe I’ll even write another post about my adventures sometime.
