Alright, so, I’ve been messing around with MLB The Show 24 for a bit now, and one thing that’s been bugging me is figuring out this whole trade request thing. Seems like it’s changed from the older games, and I ain’t the only one scratching my head over it.
First off, I dove into the Road to the Show mode, thinking that’s where I’d find the option, right? Used to be, you could just tell your agent you weren’t happy and wanted out. But nah, not anymore. I poked around the menus, checked every nook and cranny, but there’s no “request trade” button staring back at me.

So, I thought, maybe I need to talk to my agent. I found the option to contact him under the interactions tab in the main menu. Easy enough. But here’s where it gets tricky. The dude just keeps telling me I don’t have enough leverage to ask for a trade. Basically, I gotta up my game.
Here’s the deal:
-
Level Up Your Stats
This is the key, apparently. You gotta grind, improve those stats, and become a better player. The better you are, the more sway you have in these conversations with your agent.
-
Talk to Your Agent Regularly
Keep checking in with him. As your stats improve, the conversation might change. It’s like, the more valuable you become, the more likely they are to listen to your trade request.
-
Be Patient
This one’s tough, but it seems like you can’t really force a trade in this game. It’s not like the old days where you could just demand one. You gotta play the long game, keep improving, and hope your agent eventually comes around.
I spent a good chunk of time just playing games, focusing on boosting my stats. It’s a grind, no doubt. But I started noticing that the conversations with my agent were slowly changing. He wasn’t so quick to shut me down anymore.
Now, I haven’t actually managed to get traded yet. But I feel like I’m making progress. It’s all about becoming a better player and proving your worth. Once you do that, the trade option might just open up for you.
It’s a bit of a bummer that they took out the direct trade request option. But hey, it’s a new game, and maybe this way is more realistic. Who knows? Anyway, that’s my experience so far. If anyone else has figured out a surefire way to get traded, let me know! We’re all in this together.
