So, I’ve been hooked on Animal Crossing lately, you know, that game where you build your little island paradise? Anyway, I started getting into diving for sea creatures. It’s pretty chill, you just swim around and grab whatever you can find underwater. But I kept hearing about this thing called a “mussel.” Apparently, they’re not super rare, but I just couldn’t seem to find one.
I spent hours swimming around, diving whenever I saw bubbles. I caught a bunch of other stuff – sea grapes, seaweed, even a fancy gigas giant clam, which was awesome. But no mussels. I started to think maybe my game was bugged or something.

- Dive into the ocean: I put on my wet suit and jumped into the water.
- Look for bubbles: I swam around, scanning the surface for those telltale signs of sea creatures.
- Dive down: When I saw bubbles, I pressed the button to dive underwater.
- Chase the shadow: Underwater, I looked for the small, fast-moving shadows. That’s where the mussels are.
- Catch the creature: Once I got close enough, I pressed the button again to grab it.
I looked up some guides online, watched a few videos. Everyone made it look so easy! They said mussels are available all year round, any time of day. They have a small shadow and move kind of fast, but not crazy fast. Still, I just wasn’t having any luck.
Then, one day, I was diving near the edge of my island, not really expecting to find anything special. And there it was! A small shadow, zipping around. I chased after it, held my breath (not really, but you know what I mean), and finally caught the little guy. It was a mussel!
It wasn’t anything special, but…
I was so stoked! It wasn’t anything special, really, just a regular old mussel. But after searching for so long, it felt like a huge accomplishment. I donated it to the museum, of course, Blathers was pretty happy to have it. It was a nice addition to the sea creature exhibit.
Now, whenever I go diving, I always keep an eye out for mussels. They’re not rare, but they’re not exactly everywhere either. It’s kind of fun to see how many I can collect. And hey, they sell for a decent price at Nook’s Cranny, so that’s a nice bonus. It’s those little victories, you know? Makes all the aimless swimming around worth it.
