Alright, so, I’ve been messing around with MLB The Show 23, specifically the Franchise Mode. I started out by picking my favorite team. It’s kinda cool, you know, managing a whole team and all that.
So, first off, I got into the game and went straight to the Franchise mode. The game then guided me to pick my team, which was pretty simple. I picked my favorite team, obviously. Feels good to be in charge, even if it’s just a game.

After picking my team, I immediately tried to improve my roster. I mean, no team is perfect from the start, right? I did some trading, trying to get some good players on board. The process was pretty fun. You get to see all the stats and decide who to bring in and who to let go.
Improving the Team
Improving the team involved looking at the current roster, identifying weaknesses, and then finding players who could fill those gaps. It’s like putting together a puzzle, but with baseball players.
- Assess the current team: I looked at each player’s stats, their strengths, and weaknesses.
- Identify needs: Figured out what positions needed improvement. Was it pitching, batting, or fielding?
- Make trades: Started making trades, which is always a bit of a gamble. You never know for sure if the new players will perform as expected.
Playing Matches
After getting the team sorted, I started playing some matches. It’s fun to see how the changes I made affected the team’s performance. Sometimes it worked great, other times, not so much. But that’s part of the fun, I guess.
I also tried playing against friends, it is one of the most interesting part in this game. We can create franchise leagues with our own favorite teams, and then have a quick exhibition game. Also we can go head-to-head directly.
One thing I noticed is that they removed the option to request a trade. In the older versions, you could tell your agent you weren’t happy and wanted a trade, but it’s not there anymore. And remember, nothing carries over between accounts or different game versions. What you had in MLB The Show 22 stays there, it won’t come to MLB The Show 23.
In the end, managing a team in MLB The Show 23’s Franchise Mode is a blast. It’s a mix of strategy, luck, and a whole lot of baseball. It’s not just about playing the games, but also about making those tough decisions that can make or break your season. Pretty cool, if you ask me.
