Okay, so today I want to talk about how to get the Prototype Rancour in Genshin Impact. I just started playing this game, and it’s pretty cool, especially for a free-to-play title. Anyway, I hit Adventure Rank 10 the other day, and guess what? You get a Prototype Rancour for free! Yeah, no kidding, a free 4-star sword just for playing the game.
But it gets better. You can actually make more of these bad boys. Turns out, the blueprint for this weapon is unlocked from the get-go. So, once you have the materials, you can just head over to a blacksmith and forge it. In Mondstat, I went to see Wagner. He’s the guy near the entrance, pretty easy to find. There’s also Master Zhang in Liyue, but I haven’t spent much time there yet. So, I just stick with Wagner for now. There is another one called Hajime, but I haven’t met him yet.
Forge the sword
- Find a blacksmith
- Wagner in Mondstat
- Master Zhang in Liyue
- Hajime in Inazuma
- Gather materials
- Northlander Sword Prototype
- 50 Crystal Chunks
- Talk to the blacksmith and craft the sword
Now, about the materials. You’ll need a Northlander Sword Prototype and 50 Crystal Chunks. I had some Crystal Chunks already from exploring and smashing rocks, and I think the prototype came as a reward, not sure, but it was in my inventory.
So, I took my materials to Wagner, talked to him, and boom, crafted myself another Prototype Rancour. It’s a solid weapon, especially if you’re using a sword-wielding character as your main DPS. The stats are pretty sweet for damage dealing. I heard if your character is more of a support role, you might want to look into the Sacrificial Sword instead, but for now, I’m all about that DPS life, so the Prototype Rancour is perfect for me.
And that’s pretty much it. Getting the Prototype Rancour is easy peasy, and making more is just a matter of collecting materials and visiting your local blacksmith. Happy forging, folks!
