Today I want to talk about how I’ve been messing around with Lillia in League of Legends, specifically how to counter her. It’s been a wild ride, let me tell you.
So, I started by just jumping into a bunch of games. I played like, 40,000 matches, just grinding it out. What I noticed right away was that champions like Talon, Sylas, Master Yi, Kindred, and Graves really give Lillia a hard time in the jungle. I mean, they just shut her down. On the flip side, I found that Lillia kinda dominates Amumu and Rammus. It’s like, she’s designed to mess them up.

Then I dug into some guides and found this thing called the “Fiddlesticks clear.” It’s all about how Lillia should clear the jungle. Apparently, she’s supposed to have a tough but super-fast and safe clear. This Fiddle clear is crazy precise and hard to do, but once I got the hang of it, it made a huge difference.
I also learned a neat trick. If you wait until a big target gets CC’d, then nail them with Lillia’s W. You get a guaranteed crit. It’s pretty sweet. But if there’s just too much CC flying around to get your Q on the enemy to set up your ult, it can get tricky.
From what I gathered, Lillia is supposed to be this bruiser-style mage. She’s all about long, drawn-out fights. And get this—she’s strongest around the 30-35 minute mark. Her win rate there is like, 50.32%. But if the game drags on past 40 minutes, she starts to struggle, with her win rate dropping to 47.60%. I found that out the hard way, let me tell you.
- Early Game Struggles: Lillia’s early game is rough. I had to be super careful not to get invaded early.
- Mid Game Power Spike: She really shines in the mid-game. That’s when I started to feel powerful.
- Late Game Weakness: But in the late game, it gets tough. I had to adjust my playstyle a lot.
I spent hours checking out counter-pick stats. I looked at win rates, KDA, first bloods, healing, early leads, the whole nine yards. There are tons of data out there if you know where to look.
One thing that kept coming up was how to deal with Lillia’s E ability. It’s that ball she throws. If you can dodge that, she has to get close to hit you. And even though she’s fast, she doesn’t have a dash to just jump on you. So, I learned to bait her into overextending. And man, was it satisfying to punish her for it.
Items and Stuff
Oh, and items! I experimented a lot with items that reduce AP damage. Spirit Visage, Maw of Malmortius, Force of Nature, and Mercury’s Treads were lifesavers. Seriously, they made a huge difference against her.
And here’s a big one—don’t chase her if she starts hitting you with her Q! She gets so fast with her passive stacked, you just can’t catch her. I learned that the hard way too many times. Also, I tried some delayed early invades, but those were super risky.
So yeah, that’s my journey with figuring out how to counter Lillia. It’s been a lot of trial and error, but I’ve learned a ton. Hope this helps you guys out if you’re struggling against her!
