Okay, so I’ve been hooked on Pokemon Go lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. Today, I want to share my adventure of catching Mareep, that fluffy electric sheep Pokemon.
I started my day like any other, opening up Pokemon Go and checking the nearby Pokemon. I noticed there were a few Mareep in the vicinity, but they were a bit far from my usual route. But hey, I was determined to catch one!

The weather was not really helping me though, since it was a bright and sunny day. I remember reading that Mareep tends to show up more in rainy conditions. So, I was like “man, maybe today is not my day.”
But you know what? I’m not a person who gives up that easily, especially with this cute Pokemon. So, I went outside. I kept an eye on the in-game map and started walking towards areas with PokeStops and Gyms. It took a bit longer than expected, but finally, I got to a park that was buzzing with activity.
I saw a PokeStop nearby and thought, “Why not give it a shot?” I attached a Lure Module to the PokeStop, activated an Incense, and started walking around the area. I walked around for a good 30 minutes, and my app notified me of a Mareep closeby. Finally, my efforts had paid off.
- Find PokeStops in rainy weather: Mareep is more likely to be found near PokeStops and Gyms when it’s raining.
- Use Lure Modules and Incense: If you’re in a spot with PokeStops, use a Lure Module and activate an Incense to increase your chances.
- Walk around the area: Once you’ve done the above, just walk around. This will further boost your chances of running into a Mareep.
Catching Mareep was a bit of a challenge, but totally worth it. It’s such an adorable Pokemon, and having it on my team feels great. If you’re also trying to catch one, just be patient, keep an eye on the weather, and make use of those Lure Modules and Incense. Happy hunting, fellow trainers!
