So this month, I saw they have these “Mix-n-Match” badges, whatever that means. They cost 16 gems, whatever that is, too. They say they will retire those on October 18. Retire a badge? Sounds like when old folk stop working, but here it’s for the badge. I guess it won’t be available after that. Better get it quick if you need it, I reckon!
Now let me tell you about the challenge itself, they say from October 23 to October 29, 2024, there’s one where you got to spell 200 words in a week! Imagine that, 200 whole words! I can barely write a grocery list, let alone 200 words. Then they want you to complete 60 levels in some game. Sounds like a lot of work to me, but they say you’ll get some kind of flying aces badge for it. It’s a big deal for them folks who love their badges.
I also heard about this Merit Badge Challenge thing. It’s like a big event where folks come together, not just for kids either. Grown folks can join in too! They even got something they call “Adult Training” on December 14, 2024. It’s like school but for big people, and you can earn a badge for completing it! Ain’t that something? When we was young, we didn’t have these kinds of challenges for badges.

- After that, if you finish, you get your badge. That’s the prize at the end.
Now, I heard folks talking about some DEFCON 22 Badge Challenge, don’t ask me what it’s about, but it sounds like another one of them high-tech things. They say it’s got something to do with computers and security. People love to show off those badges, just like we used to be proud of winning a ribbon at the fair for best pie or biggest pumpkin.
Then there’s the Dolphin Kick 2 Badge Challenge, now this one’s in some place called the Petal Isles. Can you believe it? A game where you swim like a dolphin. They said it’s not even a main event, just one of the side things you can do. Makes me wonder how many of these challenges they have!
At the end of the day, a badge is like a little prize. Folks do these challenges, and if they do well, they get a badge to show they did it. It’s just like how we used to work hard in the fields, and at the end of the harvest, you knew you earned your keep. Same thing, just now it’s on computers. So if you’re up for it, go on and try to get one of these badges before time runs out. But as for me, I’ll stick to tending my garden, much simpler.
