Well, let me tell you about this Oddish thing, it’s a Pokemon, you know. My grandson, he’s always going on about these Pokemon things. This Oddish, it’s like a little plant, kinda cute in a weird way. Now, they got these things called “natures” for these Pokemon, makes ’em stronger in some ways, weaker in others. It’s like people, some are good at one thing, some are good at another, you get me?
Best Nature for Oddish
So, this Oddish best nature thing, it’s a big deal for folks who play this game. They want the best, strongest Oddish they can get. Now, I heard from some folks on the internet that this “Modest” nature is good for Oddish. Makes it hit harder with its special attacks, whatever that means. They talk about these “EVs”, sounds like a lot of mumbo jumbo to me. But they say you need a bunch of these “Special Attack EVs” to make Oddish real strong.
Then there’s this “Timid” nature, too. That one makes Oddish faster, like it can outrun the other Pokemon. They say with this Timid nature and some “Speed EVs”, Oddish can even be faster than some Pokemon with a “Choice Scarf”. Sounds fancy, don’t it? I don’t know what a Choice Scarf is, but it sounds like something them city folks would wear.
Some people say Adamant is good, others say Jolly is best. I guess it depends on what you want your Oddish to do. But for plain old hitting hard, that Modest nature seems to be the way to go. At least, that’s what them young folks say. They spend hours on them computer playing these games, it’s all beyond me.

These natures, they change how the Pokemon grows. Like, one stat, whatever that is, grows faster than the others. It’s like when you’re growing a garden, you gotta give some plants more water, some more sun. This nature thing is like that, but for Pokemon. One nature might make Oddish’s attacks 10% stronger. That’s a good chunk, right?
Other Natures
Now, there are other natures, too. I saw a whole list of ’em somewhere. But for Oddish, those ones I mentioned, Modest and Timid, seem to be the most popular. It’s like everyone’s chasing after the same thing, like when there’s a sale on at the grocery store and everyone’s grabbing all the good stuff.
This one kid, I think his name was Danny or something, he’s always talking about these Pokemon. Him and his friends, they’re always on those “discords” and “forums”, talking about the best natures and all that. They got guides and lists and all sorts of things. It’s a whole world out there, I tell ya. I can barely keep up with my soap operas, let alone all this Pokemon stuff.
Why Nature Matters
But I guess it matters, this nature thing. If you want your Oddish to be the best, you gotta pick the right nature. It’s like picking the right seeds for your garden. You want strong plants, you gotta start with good seeds. Same with Oddish, you want a strong one, you gotta pick the right nature.
There’s this other thing called “Abilities”, too. Don’t even get me started on that. It’s like another layer of this whole Pokemon thing. But the nature, that’s the main thing. Get that right, and you’re on your way to having a strong Oddish. Like I said you need the Oddish best nature!
And this Oddish, it’s a Grass-type, whatever that means. Apparently, that’s good against some other types of Pokemon. It’s like rock, paper, scissors, but with Pokemon. This Oddish, it’s good against the water ones, I think. So, if you’re fighting one of them water Pokemon, this Oddish with the right nature can really do some damage, I reckon.
They even got guides written by people on the internet, telling you all about this stuff. There are lots of tips and tricks to learn. One fella, calls himself “Samurott1”, wrote a whole thing about natures. I don’t know what a Samurott is, but this fella seems to know his stuff. He says this Oddish is good to use early in the game. I don’t know what game these young folks are playing but they sure love it. It’s like when we used to play bingo down at the church, but way more complicated.
