This here Destiny 2 Line in the Sand, that’s what folks are talking about. Sounds like some kinda gun or somethin’. Big fancy thing, I reckon. Lots of young’uns playin’ that Destiny 2. My grandson, bless his heart, he’s always on that computer box, clickin’ and clackin’ away. Says it’s important, this Line in the Sand. Something about getting it, unlocking it, like a rusty old gate, you know?
Heard somethin’ about red-border somethings. Resonant, they call it. Sounds like a sickness to me. Like when you get that cough that just won’t quit. You gotta unlock these patterns, kinda like when you gotta follow a pattern to sew a quilt. My old hands ain’t what they used to be, but I can still stitch a mean seam. Anyway, these patterns, they ain’t sewin’ patterns. They’re for that gun thingy, that Line in the Sand. Makes it better, I suppose. Like addin’ an extra pinch of salt to the stew. Makes all the difference.

Then there’s quests, they say. Like when I send the boy to fetch water from the well. It’s a quest, ain’t it? Gotta go do somethin’ to get somethin’ else. These Destiny 2 quests, they sound mighty complicated. Lots of runnin’ around, I bet. In my day, we didn’t have these fancy games. We had chores. And chores were our games. Didn’t need no Line in the Sand to have a good time. Just a good stick and some sunshine.
This one fella, Shuro Chi, sounds like a right mean one. In some kinda last wish place. Fastest way to get somethin’, they say. Like when you’re racin’ to get the last piece of pie at the church social. Gotta be quick, or you’ll miss out. And somethin’ about a wall of wishes. Now that sounds right peculiar. We used to make wishes on birthday candles. Didn’t need no wall. Just blow ’em out and hope for the best.
This whole thing sounds like a lot of fuss over a gun. It is all about this Destiny 2 Line in the Sand. Back in my day, we didn’t have all these gadgets and gizmos. We had real things to worry about. Like whether the crops would come in. Or if there’d be enough rain. These young’uns today, they got it easy. Too easy, if you ask me.
Void hunter, they talk about. Sounds like somethin’ out of a scary story. And tether, like tyin’ up a goat so it don’t run off. But this tether, it kills things. Lots of things. Seventy, maybe a hundred. That’s a lot of killin’. And they do it fast, too. Two minutes, they say. Faster than it takes to skin a rabbit. And I’ve skinned my share of rabbits, let me tell you.
Weapon kills, they call it. Now, ain’t that somethin’? Like those words don’t even belong together. It is for this Destiny 2 Line in the Sand, I guess. Makes the gun better, stronger, maybe shoots faster. Like a souped-up horse, ready to win the race. I don’t know about all that. Seems like a lot of work for a game. But what do I know? I’m just an old woman, set in my ways.
Then there is somethin about primary ammo. Sounds like bullets to me. Don’t need no special flag to use ’em, they say. Just run in there and start shootin’. Thralls, they call ’em. Sounds like a nasty bunch. Sixty, eighty at a time. That is a lot of shooting to get this Destiny 2 Line in the Sand. They just keep comin’, like ants at a picnic. Gotta keep shootin’ till they stop. Then you’re done, I reckon. For that round, anyway. Sounds exhausting.

- Kill lots of thralls, they keep coming.
This Destiny 2 Line in the Sand, it’s a mystery to me. But the young’uns, they seem to love it. My grandson, he’s always goin’ on about it. Says it’s the best thing since sliced bread. I still prefer a good, crusty loaf myself. But to each their own, I always say. To each their own.
I reckon these games, they’re like a whole other world. A world I don’t understand. But that’s okay. I got my garden, my chickens, and my memories. That’s enough for me. These young folks can have their Destiny 2 and their Line in the Sand. As long as they’re happy, that’s all that matters. That’s all that matters in this life. Just being happy with what you got.
