That Starfield game, my grandson plays it all the time. He keeps talking about these… factions. Sounds like a whole lotta hubbub to me. But, I guess the young folks like it. He was asking about some kinda ID numbers for them the other day. Now, I don’t know much about these newfangled video games, but I figured I’d try to help him out. I found out some things about these Starfield faction ID thingamajigs. I don’t get it but maybe some of you youngins will.
You see, there are these groups in the game, these factions. And they got numbers, like how we used to number the cows. Each group got its own special number, that’s the faction ID. My grandson, he was trying to do something in the game, said he needed the code for joining them. It’s called a command. I guess that’s like telling the game what to do. And you gotta use the right numbers, or it won’t work, just like if you use the wrong key on a lock.

Seems you gotta type something into the game, like “*.” Sounds like gibberish to me, but apparently, it’s important. It’s like that special medicine my cousin used to take. You need the right name for the medicine or it might not work. This is kind of similar, but in the game. After that, you put in the Starfield faction ID, and then another number, a zero I think. That zero is like… like the bottom of the barrel, the lowest you can go. You start there, I guess. The game will add you to the faction.
- First, you gotta find the right numbers for the group you wanna join.
- Then, you type in that “*” thing.
- Next, you put in the special number for the group, the ID.
- Finally, you put in a zero at the end.
Now, where do you find these numbers? That’s what I was wondering too. Apparently, there’s this thing called a “Creation Kit.” Sounds like something you’d use for making quilts, but it ain’t. It’s part of the game, I think. You can find all them Starfield faction IDs there. It’s like a big list, like the phone book, but for these game groups. You have to find “Object Window” first and then “Character”. After that, you have to click “Faction”. All the IDs are there.
My grandson said something about paying off bounties. Sounds like trouble to me. Like when old man Johnson’s rooster got loose and we had to pay for the damage to Mrs. Gable’s garden. Apparently, in this game, you can get into trouble too, and you gotta pay to get out of it. These Starfield faction ID things can help you do that, somehow. That part I don’t quite get. Seems like a lot of work just to play a game. But, like I said, the young folks like it.
So, if you’re playing this Starfield game, and you need those faction ID numbers, that’s how you find ’em. You use that “Creation Kit” thingy, and you type in that special command, and you put in the number. And if you’re in trouble, maybe these numbers can help you pay your way out of it. I don’t know, I’m just an old lady. But hopefully, this makes sense to someone.
It’s all so complicated. Back in my day, we just played hopscotch and jacks. We didn’t need no numbers or codes or commands. Just some chalk and a good throwing arm. But the world’s changing, I reckon. These young folks and their video games. It’s a whole different world. I hope they don’t forget how to have fun without all these fancy gadgets.
Anyway, that’s all I got on these Starfield faction ID things. I hope it helps somebody. Maybe my grandson will finally stop pestering me about it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my preserves. They’re a lot simpler than this Starfield business, and they taste a whole lot better too, I can guarantee you that.
I still don’t understand why they call them factions. Sounds like some kind of a disease. Or maybe like a fraction. Like cutting a pie. Maybe that’s it. You cut the game into pieces and each piece is a faction. Who knows. It is all too much for me. But the boy keeps saying faction ID this and faction ID that. So, there you go. If you need those numbers, now you know where to find them.
They got all these fancy names for things these days. Like how they call a toilet a “restroom” now. It’s just a toilet! And these factions, they’re just groups. Why can’t they just call them groups? It’d be a lot simpler. Or like a club. Yeah, like a club you join. Like the quilting club I used to be in. We didn’t have no special numbers. Just a bunch of ladies making quilts. Maybe these game folks should take up quilting. It’s a lot less confusing.
