Well, let me tell you, this here MLB The Show 24, it’s givin’ folks a heck of a time. See, you’re supposed to be able to scan your own face into the game, make yourself a baseball star, you know? But that darn face scan, it ain’t workin’ right for a lot of people. Just like tryin’ to get that old mule to plow straight. Stubborn as all get out.
Now, I heard some folks sayin’ you gotta have the newest version of that app thing. You know, the one on your phone. Like gettin’ the freshest eggs from the henhouse, gotta be the latest one. And somethin’ about a “Face Scan add-on”. Sounds like gibberish to me, but maybe you young’uns know what that is. Like puttin’ a new saddle on that old mule, I reckon.
And then there’s them iPhones. Heard a fella sayin’ his fancy iPhone 13, with that iOS 17.3.1, whatever that means, it just won’t cooperate. Says the camera won’t work for the scan. Like tryin’ to get a picture of that skittish cat, near impossible. And some other phone, an Android, says it won’t load the camera either. Sounds like a right mess.

- Need somethin’ called a “Face Scan add-on”.
- Them fancy phones might be the problem.
One fella, he said he figured somethin’ out. Said you gotta make a new player in the game first. Then, right away, add that face scan. Before you do any of that other stuff, like gettin’ drafted or whatever. Like plantin’ them seeds before the frost comes, gotta do it in the right order. He even made a video about it. But it didn’t help me, I can’t even find the right button on my phone app!
Then I saw another person talkin’ about bein’ stuck. Said their face scan thing on the app got stuck at 33%. Just spinnin’ and spinnin’, like a chicken with its head cut off. Ain’t goin’ nowhere. Makes you wanna just throw your hands up in the air.
And findin’ that Face Scan button? Lord have mercy. Some folks say it’s right there on the bottom of the app, plain as day. But I looked and looked, and I couldn’t find it. It’s like tryin’ to find a needle in a haystack. Maybe my eyes ain’t what they used to be, but I swear it ain’t there. In my phone, there is only a button called “Ballplayer“.
They say it’s supposed to be easy, this face scan thing. But it’s causin’ more trouble than a weasel in the henhouse. All these steps and instructions, it’s enough to make your head spin. They even show pictures of how it should work, with those “Image Credits” things. But those pictures dont work for me, I can’t find the same button.
And that message, “Unable to use Face Scan technology at this time“? Well, that’s just salt in the wound. Like tellin’ a farmer he can’t plow his field because his plow’s broke. Just what you want to hear, right?
So, if you’re tryin’ to get your face in this MLB The Show 24 game, and that face scan ain’t workin’, you ain’t alone. It’s a problem, that’s for sure. And I don’t know if they are gonna fix it. Maybe they’ll come up with a patch or somethin’. Like fixin’ a hole in the fence, they need to patch up this face scan problem.
The game producer should fix this problem soon. You know, I spend a lot of money on this game. I love play baseball game. But this problem really made me sad. I just want to create a ballplayer looks like me!
- Go to RTTS mode.
- Choose your position.
- Find the character creation menu, the face scan should be the first option.
The only thing I can tell ya is to keep tryin’. Maybe try what that one fella said about makin’ a new player first. Or check if you have the newest app. And pray to the good Lord they fix this mess soon. Because right now, this face scan is about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.
