Well, let me tell ya, these young folks and their fancy games. Back in my day, we just had plain ol’ marbles. Now it’s all these Pokey-mans. My grandson, bless his heart, he tried to explain it to me. Says there’s this Bellossom and this Vileplume. Sounds like a right mess if you ask me. But, I guess it’s what all the kids are into these days in this Pokemon Go.
So, this Vileplume, he says, it’s like a big ol’ flower, but it’s also poison. Reminds me of that weed killer we used to use back on the farm. Powerful stuff, but gotta be careful with it. This Pokemon Go Vileplume, he says it’s good for fightin’ in these, uh, “raids” and “gym battles.” Whatever those are. Sounds like a whole lotta work for nothin’ if you ask me. But that’s how these kids do. Try to get best moveset to win. Sounds like this Vileplume is pretty good in Pokemon Go.
Then there’s this Bellossom. Now, that one, it just looks like a pretty flower. My grandson says it ain’t as strong as that Vileplume. Says it’s more for, uh, “defense” or somethin’. Like puttin’ up a fence around your garden. Keeps the critters out, but it ain’t gonna go chasin’ after ’em. In Pokemon Go, Bellossom is like a wall, not an attacker.
He showed me on his phone. This Vileplume, it’s got higher, uh, “stats.” Numbers and such. And this CP thing, that’s higher too. It is better than Bellossom. I don’t know what that means, but he says it’s important. If you want to win, get higher CP. And it’s not weak to as many things as the Bellossom. I guess that means it don’t get hurt as easy.
He kept goin’ on about “Great League” and “Ultra League.” Bellossom is better in this “Ultra League” thing, whatever that is, than Vileplume. Only cause it is not that strong. Bellossom max CP is lower than 2500. I don’t know. Sounds like a different kind of game to me. Vileplume is good in this “Ultra League” too. It is like a hundred or somethin’. Not as good as Bellossom.
This Bellossom, it’s good with somethin’ called “Razor Leaf” and “Bullet Seed.” And then it’s got this “Leaf Blade” thing. Sounds like somethin’ you’d use to trim the hedges. But he says it gets hurt real bad by flyin’ things, and poison, and bugs, and fire. Well, shoot, that’s a lot of things. If you choose Bellossom, you have to watch out these things.

- Bellossom, that’s the pretty flower.
- Vileplume is better for fightin’.
- Bellossom is better for defendin’ in Pokemon Go.
- Vileplume has higher numbers, them “stats” and “CP” things.
- Bellossom is better in that “Ultra League” but weaker.
- Bellossom is weak to lots of things, like flyin’ and fire.
He was tryin’ to show me how to “evolve” them. Like turnin’ a caterpillar into a butterfly, I reckon. But it’s all buttons and things on that phone. I told him, “Son, I can barely work the TV remote, let alone this contraption.” These Pokey-mans, they can “evolve” into Vileplume or Bellossom. Depends on what you want, I guess.
Then there’s these things called “values.” Like how much somethin’s worth, I suppose. He said the Vileplume and Bellossom, they have different “values” in this Pokemon Go. Like one’s worth more than the other. And they have different “max CP” and “max HP“. I don’t rightly know what all that means, but it sounds important to these young’uns. Just like how we used to compare the price of eggs at the market.
He also talked about “catch” and “hatch.” Like catchin’ a chicken or hatchin’ an egg. You can “catch” these Pokey-mans, or you can “hatch” them from eggs, I think. And the Vileplume and Bellossom, they’re different when you “catch” or “hatch” them. It’s all very confusin’.
Honestly, I don’t understand half of it. But he seemed so excited, I just nodded along. Kids these days. They get so wrapped up in these games. Back in my day, we were happy with a stick and a hoop. But I guess times change. If you want to play this Pokemon Go, and need to choose Bellossom or Vileplume, you need to think about what you want. An attacker or a defender?
Anyway, if you’re gonna play this Pokey-man game, I reckon that Vileplume is probably the better one to have. At least, that’s what my grandson says. He spends hours on that game. He probably knows more about it than I do about my own garden! But that Bellossom, it sure is pretty. Maybe I’ll plant some flowers that look like it. At least those won’t give you poison ivy. But if you want to win, maybe Vileplume is better.
