Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this link cable scarlet violet thing. It’s a head-scratcher, that’s for sure. Ain’t like the old days, no sir. Back in my time, we didn’t have none of this fancy stuff. You wanted somethin’, you went and got it yourself. But these young folks, they got all these gadgets and gizmos.
So, this thing, this link cable… you know it was used to evolve those Pokemon things, right? That’s what I heard. We called them pocket monsters. My grandson, he’s always talkin’ about ’em. He says, “Grandma, you gotta evolve this Pokemon, you gotta evolve that Pokemon!” I just nod my head. These kids these days!
In them old games, you see, there was this link cable. And you could use it to, like, make your little monsters stronger. But now, in this new game, this scarlet and violet game, it ain’t there. They took it out! Can you believe it? Why would they do that? They do not have this link cable in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
- You can’t find it nowhere.
- You used to could use it to make your Pokemon strong without trading.
- Now you gotta do something called “link trade.”
Now, they got this other thing, this “link trade.” Sounds complicated if you ask me. You gotta go to some “Poke Portal,” whatever that is. Then you gotta click somethin’, and then you gotta put in a code. A code! Like you’re breakin’ into a bank vault or somethin’. It is so complicated than using a link cable.
And then, you get matched up with someone else who put in the same code. It’s all very strange. I don’t understand these young people sometimes. I think these days they just like to do everything the hard way. In my day, we just kept things simple.
I heard somethin’ called a “Linking Cord.” That sounds more like it. A cord, somethin’ you can hold in your hand. They used it in some game, “Arceus” or somethin’. Sounds like a sneeze. Anyways, this cord, it let you make those little monsters, these Pokemons, stronger. You got Kadabra, Machoke, Graveler, and Haunter. Sounds like a bunch of troublemakers if you ask me. And this cord made ’em into, uh, Alakazam, Machamp, Golem, and Gengar. That’s a mouthful.
And they had this link cable in some other games too, like “Explorers” and “Gates to Infinity.” Sounds like a bunch of nonsense to me, but the kids sure do love it. They took it all out in some other game, “Super” somethin’. Then they brought it back as a different thing in some other game. They change this stuff around so much, it’s hard to keep up.
These games, they ain’t like they used to be. I remember when my grandson, bless his heart, tried to show me how to play. He kept sayin’, “Grandma, you gotta do this, you gotta do that!” I just smiled and nodded. I didn’t understand a lick of it.
- These new games are too complicated.
- They keep changing things.
- It’s hard to keep up with all this stuff.
And I heard some folks talkin’ about their “switches” not connectin’. They wanted to trade and battle, but they couldn’t. They tried for days, they said. Poor things. Must be frustratin’. It’s like when your phone line goes dead, and you can’t call nobody. You’re just stuck. Except, instead of callin’ someone, they’re tryin’ to trade these little monsters. Kids these days, I tell ya.
This linking cord, it’s supposed to have some kind of “mysterious energy.” Makes you feel a “strange sense of connection.” Sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me. But apparently, these Pokemons, they love it. I guess it’s like givin’ a dog a bone. Makes ’em happy. Although, I don’t see why they need a magic cord to be happy. A good scratch behind the ears always did the trick for my old dog, Buster.
They used to just trade these Pokemons, see. With their friends. That’s how it worked back in the day. Simple. Now they gotta have all these codes and portals and whatnot. It’s all too much if you ask me.
This “link trade” thing, you gotta open the “Poke Portal” and click “Link Trade.” Then you gotta “Set Link Code.” Sounds like you’re settin’ a trap or somethin’. I don’t know about all that. I don’t think the link cable is in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Well, that’s all I know about this link cable scarlet violet business. It’s a lot of fuss over nothin’ if you ask me. But the kids seem to like it, so what do I know? I’m just an old lady who don’t understand these newfangled things. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go have a nice cup of tea.
