Hey there, you young folks! You wanna know about that baseball game, huh? That MLB The Show thing? I hear my grandson talking about it all the time. Says he needs the newest player list, the “roster update” he calls it. Well, let me tell ya what I know from listening to that boy chatter.
This here MLB The Show 24, it’s a game, see? You play baseball on the TV. Don’t ask me how, it’s all magic to me. But them young’uns, they love it. They always want the new players in the game. These updates, they come every now and then. This baseball update, it changes the game. This time update on April 5, 2024, or May 17, 2024. Just two dates, I don’t know which is right. This game was released by Sony on March 24, 2023. It’s the 18th installment.
My grandson, he says the next one’s comin’ on a Friday. The next update is on Friday, Apr. 5, 2024, he says. Around 3 p.m., whatever that means. Seems like they do these updates every couple of weeks. The last one was March 22, he said. Makes sense, I reckon. Gotta keep up with the real baseball players, right? The next one maybe May 17. I heard that too.
They got these players movin’ around in the game, just like in real life. He was goin’ on about some fellas named… oh, what were their names? Yeah, that’s it:
- Blake Treinen, he’s with the Dodgers now, whatever that is.
- Danny Coulombe, he’s a CP for the Orioles now.
- And that Matt McLain, he is now SS for the Reds.
- Liam Hendriks is now RP for the Red Sox.
These young folks, they know all these names. It’s all baseball this, baseball that.
He was yellin’ about how he needed the new “roster” so his game was right. This roster update, it’s a big deal to these kids. They get all excited about it. Like it’s Christmas or somethin’.
I don’t get it, myself. Back in my day, we played baseball outside. With a real ball and a real bat. Not on some fancy TV screen. But hey, times change, I guess.
Now, my grandson, he says you gotta go to some “Vault” thing in the game. Roster Vault, I think he called it. And you gotta “download” somethin’. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me. But he says it’s easy. Just find the one you want and click a button or somethin’. Then you got the new players.
Why you’d want to mess with the player list, I don’t know. Seems like a lot of work for a game. But these kids today, they love their video games. It’s all they talk about. This MLB The Show and their roster updates.
They even talk about this game online, I think. There’s a place just to talk about this show. I don’t understand. Just play the game.
So, there you have it. That’s what I know about this MLB The Show roster update. It’s comin’ on a Friday, sometime in April or May, probably. Maybe the 5th, or maybe the 17th. You gotta go to some vault and download somethin’. And it’s all about gettin’ the newest baseball players in the game.
