That Neymar, he’s a fancy one, ain’t he? Always got them FIFA cards, folks talkin’ ’bout ’em all the time. I hear my grandson yappin’ about them Neymar FIFA cards, ratings and whatnot. Don’t know much about all that, but I reckon that boy, Neymar, he’s somethin’ special on that field.
They say he’s got all kinds of these cards. One year he’s this number, next year he’s that number. It’s all a jumble to me. But the young’uns, they eat it up. They say this Neymar card is better than that one. High number good, low number bad, I guess. It is like picking potatoes, you want the big and round ones, those are the best ones, same as the FIFA cards of Neymar, bigger the number, the better the card is.
- FIFA 12, they had a Neymar card.
- Then FIFA 21, FIFA 23, always a Neymar.
- Each year, a new card, I suppose.
My grandson, bless his heart, he tries to explain it to me. “Grandma,” he says, “this Neymar FIFA card, it’s got a 91 rating!” Or maybe it was an 89. See, I don’t even remember. He says it like I’m supposed to know what that means. I just nod and smile. He gets so excited, it’s cute. All I know, that Neymar boy, he can sure kick that ball. He is from a place named Brazil, far far away. My grandson, he also told me that Neymar played for a team named Paris Saint-Germain, he said it is a good team, and Neymar is one of the best players in that team.
They say this Neymar, he’s got a weak foot, a strong foot, skill moves. Sounds like a dance to me! Five skill moves, five weak foot, they say. I don’t know what them young folks are talking about, that is too much for me to remember. I’ve seen him play on the television, though. Zippin’ around, quick as a rabbit. And the way he makes that ball do what he wants… it’s like magic, I tell ya.
Twenty-two cards, they say he’s had. Or was it eighty-five? Land sakes, it’s hard to keep track. LW, CAM, ST… Those letters, they mean somethin’, I guess. Different positions, like different spots in the garden, I suppose. You got your tomatoes over here, your peppers over there. Maybe that’s what it’s like for Neymar. He can play here, he can play there. I think LW is his best, but don’t quote me on that. The best Neymar card is 99, that is what I heard.
Some folks say he’s worth all the “fodder.” Now, I know about fodder. We used to feed it to the hogs. But in this game, I don’t know. It’s like trading, I reckon. You give up somethin’ to get that special Neymar card. Like tradin’ eggs for sugar at the market. I guess people think he is good, then they want his FIFA card, that is how this works.
They got these World Cup cards, too. That’s a big deal, the World Cup. Like the county fair, but for soccer. Everyone’s watchin’. And Neymar, he’s right there in the middle of it. They put him on a card, 89 rated, they say. That must be pretty good, huh? World Cup is big, everyone knows that, and Neymar is in it, so that means he is a big star.
And then there’s this “Flashback” card. Sounds like somethin’ from my day! They say it’s like his regular card, but different. Like lookin’ at an old photo, I guess. Rememberin’ when he was younger, maybe. Or maybe it is just another way to make people buy more FIFA cards, I don’t know. These young people, they spend so much on these cards, and they seems very happy about it, so I guess it is ok.
They got all these details on these cards, too. Stats, they call ’em. Like how many eggs a hen lays, I suppose. Each card’s got its own numbers. And prices, too! They buy and sell these things like we used to trade chickens. It’s a whole world, this FIFA card business. But my grandson loves it, I guess that is what matters. And that Neymar, he is good at kicking that ball, that is for sure.
I don’t understand all of this FIFA card stuff. But I know that boy, Neymar, he’s a star. And these cards, they’re like little pieces of him, I guess. Little pieces of the magic he makes on that field. It’s all a bit silly, but it makes the young’uns happy. And that’s all that really matters, ain’t it?
