Now, Haunter, that’s a mean-looking fella. But it ain’t done growin’ yet. It wants to be a Gengar, that big ol’ purple ghost. But here’s the thing, and it’s a bit tricky, mind you. This Haunter, it needs a little help to become a Gengar in most games. It usually wants to be traded, you know? Like swapping it with a friend and then swapping it back. But this “Let’s Go Pikachu” game, it’s different. It’s simpler, like me cookin’ – just throw it in the pan and heat it up.

In this here “Pikachu” game, things are a bit easier, from what I hear. You don’t need to bother with all that trading nonsense. Just keep leveling up that Haunter. Keep battling, keep training, just like you did with the Gastly. You gotta get it to level 38, that’s the magic number. Once it hits level 38, boom! Your Haunter turns into a Gengar, just like that. No trading, no fuss, no nothin’.
Now, some folks say you can get a Gengar earlier, like at level 25, by talking to some lady. But I ain’t so sure about that. Sounds like hocus pocus to me. I say, stick to the old-fashioned way. Level it up to 38, and you’ll be fine. That’s how things work in my book.
So, to recap, real simple like: Gastly at level 25 becomes Haunter. Haunter at level 38 becomes Gengar in “Let’s Go Pikachu”. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. Don’t go listenin’ to all them fancy folks with their complicated talk. Just do what I told ya, and you’ll have yourself a Gengar in no time.
