Well now, let me tell ya about this “ask for trade” thing in MLB The Show 24, ’cause folks been askin’ about it a lot. In them old games, you used to be able to just tell your agent, “Hey, I’m tired of this team, I want out,” and bam, you’d get moved to a new one. Simple as that. But in MLB The Show 24, well, it ain’t quite that easy no more. That feature where you could just ask for a trade anytime, like in MLB The Show 23, it’s not there no more. So, if you’re thinkin’ you can just ask for a trade whenever you feel like it, you’re gonna have to wait and do a little more work for it.
Now, the way to go about gettin’ a trade in MLB The Show 24 is a bit different. In “Road to the Show,” you gotta be real patient. See, you can’t just go up to your agent and say you wanna leave. Nope. You gotta wait for a phone call from that agent of yours, or sometimes, they’ll have a meeting with your manager. And that’s when you’ll get the chance to ask for a trade. It don’t happen all the time, and it ain’t up to you when it does. But don’t worry, you’ll know when that call comes.

Some folks been wonderin’ about how to get traded, like if there’s a quick way to get it done. Well, I can tell ya this much: when you’re talkin’ to your agent, and they start askin’ you how things are goin’, you better tell ‘em you’re lookin’ for a change. That’s how you can get your trade. But don’t expect it to happen overnight. You might have to wait a little bit ’til the stars align, and the trade happens.
Now, if you’re playin’ in Diamond Dynasty, well, that’s a different kettle of fish. In this mode, you ain’t makin’ trades like in “Road to the Show,” but you can still buy and sell things in the Marketplace. It’s kinda like a little digital store, where you can buy perks for your ballplayer. You can get all sorts of goodies, and you can even sell stuff you don’t need. But remember, you’re limited to how many perks you can have at one time, up to four, so choose wisely. Just like in the good ol’ days when we used to trade chickens at the market, ya gotta make sure you’re gettin’ a fair deal.
Now, if you’re lookin’ to get traded in other modes, like Franchise Mode or March to October, it’s pretty much the same idea. You’re not gonna get to ask for a trade on a whim. You gotta wait for that phone call or that manager meetin’. Them’s the breaks, as they say. Ain’t no easy way around it. But just like a player in the big leagues, you gotta prove yourself and work your way into a trade.
When you’re lookin’ to make any deal, whether it’s for a player or a perk, you gotta understand somethin’ about this thing called the “bid-ask spread.” That’s just a fancy way of sayin’ that when you buy or sell something, there’s always a difference between what folks are willin’ to pay and what they’re askin’ for. So, when you’re buyin’ or sellin’, you gotta keep an eye on them prices. In the stock market, they call it the “bid” and the “ask.” It’s the same in MLB The Show 24’s Marketplace. The bid is what somebody’s willing to pay for somethin’, and the ask is what they want in return. So, when you’re makin’ a deal, make sure you know where you stand. If you’re tryin’ to sell somethin’, you wanna get the highest bid, and if you’re buyin’, you want to pay the lowest ask.
But let me tell you, don’t get discouraged. Even though askin’ for a trade in MLB The Show 24 ain’t as easy as it used to be, with a little patience, you’ll get there. Just keep workin’ hard, keep your head down, and eventually, you’ll get that call. Who knows? You might even end up with a new team just when you least expect it. And that’s what makes the game fun, ain’t it?
