Pokémon from the Hoenn region. It’s super cute and has this fluffy, cotton-candy look going on, right? I mean, who doesn’t love a fluffy bird?
I remember when Swablu first arrived in Pokémon Go. It was a big deal for me, I was so excited to find them in the wild and catch them! They’re kinda rare, but finding them is a real treat.

Now, you might be thinking, “How do I get my hands on one of these cuties?” Well, that’s the fun part! You can find them in the wild, in some egg hatches, or even in some raid battles. They are fairly common, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble.
You know, I’ve seen people try to find Swablu by using a map or a tracker, but I think it’s way more fun to just wander around and look for them. It’s like a treasure hunt, and it’s way more rewarding to find them when you least expect it. Plus, it’s like, an adventure! It’s a good excuse to get out and explore, especially if you’re playing Pokémon Go.
So, let’s break down some of the things you should know about Swablu in Pokémon Go.
Swablu In Pokemon Go: The Basics
Alright, let’s get down to the basics. Swablu is a Normal and Flying type, so you’ll need to watch out for Rock, Electric, and Ice-type moves. Those will put a hurt on them! But hey, they’re weak to those types, but they’re also strong against Grass, Fighting, and Bug types. It’s a little bit like a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors, right?
One thing to keep in mind is that Swablu is one of those Pokémon that can be shiny, which is pretty cool! It’s got a cool, blue-ish hue, that makes it stand out. I’ve seen it, and it’s beautiful, trust me.
So, when you’re playing, keep an eye out for those shiny ones, and you can check if the little guy is shiny or not. If it’s shimmering and sparkling, then you’ve found yourself a shiny Swablu!
Swablu also has a pretty interesting evolution. You can evolve it into Altaria, which is a Dragon and Flying type. It’s a pretty cool Pokémon, and it’s actually pretty strong, so you want to keep that in mind when you’re using it in battles. I’ve used Altaria in some battles, and it has really surprised me.
You’ll need to use 50 Swablu candies to evolve a Swablu into an Altaria. I used to hoard them, so I would have enough for a whole team of Altarias, but I’m not sure that was the best idea.
You can actually make your Altaria even stronger if you mega evolve it. I haven’t done that yet, but I’m planning on it.

Swablu Stats & Moves: What To Look Out For
Alright, let’s dive a little deeper into the stats of Swablu and Altaria, especially when you’re using them in battles.
Swablu’s maximum Combat Power (CP) is 745, and its maximum HP is 104. Now, that doesn’t sound like a whole lot of power, right? However, when you evolve Swablu, it turns into an Altaria, which is much more powerful.
Here are some of the best moves that Swablu can learn:
Fast Moves: Air Slash, Gust, Peck, Quick Attack
Charged Moves: Draco Meteor, Dragon Claw, Hurricane, Sky Attack
And, you can also look out for these moves for Altaria:
Fast Moves: Air Slash, Gust, Peck, Quick Attack
Charged Moves: Draco Meteor, Dragon Claw, Hurricane, Sky Attack
You might be thinking, “Wait a minute, those moves are all the same?” It’s true, Swablu and Altaria can learn the same moves, but the main difference is that Altaria’s moves are much stronger. I think it’s because Altaria is a Dragon type, and they’re all about power, right?

The best moves for Swablu are Air Slash for Fast Moves and Sky Attack for Charged Moves. This combo will hit hard and quickly, which is super helpful in battle, especially against those tough opponents. I like to use these moves when I’m battling against other players, it’s usually effective, especially against opponents with weaker Pokémon.
For Altaria, the best moves are Air Slash for Fast Moves and Draco Meteor for Charged Moves. Again, this combo is super powerful and will make your Altaria a beast in battle. Trust me, you’ll want to use this combo in the GO Battle League, especially against those opponents who are giving you a hard time.
Swablu in the GO Battle League
Now, let’s talk about something you might be interested in: using Swablu in the GO Battle League.
While Swablu itself is not a powerhouse, it’s still a good Pokémon to use in the Great League. That’s because it has a great attack stat, but its defense and HP are a bit low, which can make it a little bit fragile.
The best way to use Swablu is to use it as a fast move spammer. It means it’s all about quickly attacking and getting in damage before it gets taken out. You have to be quick and aggressive, and don’t be afraid to throw in some Charged Moves if you have the opportunity. If you play your cards right, you can surprise your opponent.
However, when you evolve Swablu into Altaria, it becomes much more powerful, especially if you use it in the Ultra League or Master League. It’s a good choice in those leagues, because its stats are much higher.
You can use Altaria as a great Mega Raid Battler, and it’s also good against those pesky Team GO Rocket leaders. I’m not a fan of fighting Team GO Rocket, but Altaria really helps.
I’m trying to get all the shiny versions of the Pokémon in the game, and using Altaria in Team Rocket battles helps a lot with getting some of those Pokemon, especially those that are really hard to find in the wild.
Swablu: Finding and Catching Your Own
Alright, so you know about the stats and how it moves, but you still need to catch a Swablu.
You can find them in the wild, in some egg hatches, or even in some raid battles. And don’t forget, it can be shiny! That’s the thing about Swablu, it’s one of those Pokémon that can be shiny, and it’s pretty cool.
If you’re looking for one in the wild, you’ll want to look in grassy areas, near lakes, and even in forests. Just remember, it’s a rare Pokémon, so you might have to look around a bit to find one.
You can also find Swablu in some egg hatches, but that’s more of a gamble. If you’re going to hatch Swablu eggs, make sure you use an incubator, and go on a long walk to hatch them.
As for raid battles, Swablu is usually found in lower-level raids. It’s a good chance to get a lot of Swablu candies to evolve it into Altaria. That’s what I did!
Swablu: Some Tips
Now that you know how to catch one, here are a few tips that might help you.
Use berries: Berries can help you catch Swablu, so make sure you have a good supply, especially those rare ones!
Use a Pinap Berry: This berry will give you double the candy, which is helpful if you’re trying to evolve Swablu.
Use a Golden Razz Berry: It’s the best one, because it will help you catch even the toughest Swablu.
