Now, in Mini Seasons, you play a season made up of 28 games. Ain’t too many, right? Just 28, and every game’s only 3 innings long. I mean, that’s pretty short for a baseball game, but it sure does make it quick and snappy. You gotta play against teams in what they call the Global Baseball League. There’s teams from all over, so it’s like you get to travel the world without ever leavin’ your couch. In each season, you gotta play 4 games against every team—two home games, and two away games. And if you’re lucky enough to finish in the top half of the league, well, then you get to head on to the playoffs, where you got a chance at the Championship!
Now, in this here new version of Mini Seasons, you build up a squad of players from cards they introduced in MLB The Show 24. You know, them player items that come from new card series. You’ll play through 28 regular season games, but what makes it different is that it’s all focused on these player items, and you can’t just use any ol’ players. You gotta pick the right ones, and that’s where the fun comes in. It’s all about buildin’ the best team ya can with what you got.
And let me tell ya, there’s rewards galore! If you’re a fan of Diamond Dynasty, this is right up your alley. The more you play, the more rewards you get. There’s weekly free packs in the Show Shop that you can grab, and if you keep pushin’ forward, you’ll unlock more Wild Card slots. These things let you expand your team even more. The longer you play, the more chances you get to earn high-tier cards, and trust me, them high-tier cards can really make a difference when you’re tryin’ to build the best team possible.
Now, if you’re lookin’ for more changes, they done gone and made the seasons last 12 weeks long now, so it’s a bit more stretched out than before. But that’s a good thing, don’t you worry. Gives you more time to get your act together and maybe fix them mistakes you made earlier in the season. You know, the ones where you lost a game you shouldn’t have. But that’s how it goes with baseball, ain’t it?
All in all, I reckon Mini Seasons is a great way to play MLB The Show if ya don’t have all the time in the world to sit down and play a long, drawn-out season.
