Well, if ya been playin’ MLB The Show 24, ya know there’s this thing called roster updates that happen every so often. These updates, they happen every two weeks, usually on a Friday right at 3 p.m. ET. I reckon it gives them folks workin’ on the game time to get all the trades, position changes, and how players are doin’ in real life into the game. That way, when you fire up the game, the players are lookin’ just like they do out there on the field.
Now, let me tell ya, it ain’t just about who’s gettin’ traded or what. Sometimes a player’s rating can shift too. Like, if a player’s been hittin’ home runs left and right, or maybe makin’ some real good plays out there, their score might go up in the game. And vice versa, if they ain’t doin’ so hot, they might drop a little. Makes the game feel more real, don’t it?
So, when do these updates happen exactly? Well, like I said, it’s every two weeks. Usually on a Friday at 3 p.m. ET. But don’t get yourself too worked up about exact times, ‘cause sometimes it can change a little. I seen it happen before, but most of the time, that’s the schedule. It gives the developers enough time to see what’s goin’ on in the real MLB, and then make the changes on the game.
Ya might be wonderin’ what all’s included in these updates. Well, sometimes it’s just player ratings. Other times, it’s trades and position changes. They try to keep the game up-to-date so it feels like what’s happenin’ out there on the field. For example, say a player gets traded to a new team or gets moved to a new position. You can bet that’ll show up in the game pretty quick.
What’s so special about these updates? Well, folks like to get excited when the roster updates come out ‘cause you might get to see new diamonds, new superstars, and all sorts of surprises. For example, I heard back on June 28th, there were five new diamonds added to the game! Now, I don’t know about you, but when I hear about new diamonds, that gets my attention. Those are the big names, the players who really stand out. And when you get ‘em in your team, well, that just makes the game even more fun!
Now, if ya didn’t know already, MLB The Show 24 lets ya build your dream team. It’s called Diamond Dynasty, and it’s where you can get all sorts of players—MLB legends, flashbacks to when players were at their best, and even the current-day stars. It’s a real mix of old and new, and you can put together a team that’s strong enough to take on any challenge.
What about the updates in 2024? Well, for October, they had some big things happenin’. On October 18, 2024, they launched the Extreme Program in the game. Now, I’m not exactly sure what that is, but sounds like it’s somethin’ special, don’t it? And just before that, on October 11, they brought in the Finest Series and Hall of Fame Series. So, looks like there’s always somethin’ new comin’ down the line.
And if you’ve been followin’ along with the updates, you might have seen one back in March, too, on the 22nd. They had somethin’ big for the start of the season. There’s always new updates comin’, so it’s never too long before ya get somethin’ fresh to play with.
