Well, let me tell you somethin’ about that Poliwrath fella, who seems to get a lotta attention in the Pokémon world. Now, if you’re lookin’ to use him in a fight or just wonderin’ what he’s weak to, sit tight ’cause I’m gonna tell ya. Poliwrath is a Water-type Pokémon, but it’s also a Fighting-type. So you might think, “Well, what’s wrong with that?” But let me tell you, every Pokémon’s got its weaknesses, and Poliwrath ain’t no different.
First off, ’cause it’s got the Water-type in it, that means it’s gonna have some troubles with Electric-type moves. You know how water and electricity don’t mix, right? It’s the same for Poliwrath, that Electric-type attack will hit him hard. So if you’re goin’ up against an Electric-type Pokémon, you best be careful.

Next, let’s talk about the Flying-types. They’re a real problem for Poliwrath, too. ‘Cause see, Poliwrath’s a Fighting-type, and when you put Fighting against Flying, it’s like a chicken tryin’ to fight a hawk. They’ll have the upper hand, for sure. So don’t go thinkin’ that Poliwrath’s gonna do much against a Pokémon like that.
Then there’s Psychic-type. Now, I don’t know what it is about them Psychic-types, but they sure got a way of messin’ with Poliwrath’s head. So if you’re up against one of them, you can bet that Poliwrath ain’t gonna do too good. And don’t forget about Grass-types. I know it sounds odd, but Water-types like Poliwrath are weak to Grass-types, too. Grass just has a way of overgrowing and takin’ down them Water-types, so be careful of that as well.
Last but not least, Fairy-types. Poliwrath’s not the best when it comes to Fairy-type moves either. Fairy-types have a way of dodgin’ the usual attacks and then just gettin’ in those hits that hurt, so Poliwrath’s gonna be weak against them too.
But don’t go thinkin’ that Poliwrath’s all weak and no good. No, no. He’s got some good strengths too, like his Fighting-type moves. If you use ’em right, he can deal real good damage to Normal, Steel, Rock, and Ice-types. Now that’s somethin’ you can take advantage of! But still, remember those weaknesses, and you’ll be alright.
When you’re thinkin’ of what moves to use, some of them work better than others. For defense, a move like ‘Counter’ is real good, helps Poliwrath block those attacks and strike back. Then you got moves like ‘Rock Smash’ which do a little more damage than ‘Bubble,’ but I tell ya, it don’t get as much energy back. So you gotta pick the moves carefully, like any smart fighter would. Don’t waste no time with ‘Mud Shot’ though, that one don’t do much for defense. And if you really wanna go after the opponents, ‘Ice Punch’ is a good one to hit them counters hard.
So, all in all, Poliwrath has his strengths and weaknesses like any other Pokémon. You just gotta know when to fight and when to run, or in this case, when to switch out for a better match-up. But don’t let his weaknesses fool ya—if you use him right, he can be a real powerhouse in a battle!
