If you’re playing Ghost of Tsushima, you might have heard about the duels scattered all over Tsushima Island. These duels are a big part of the game, and they can really test your skills. So, if you’re wondering where to find all these duels, well, let me tell ya. I’ll walk ya through all the places where you can find ‘em, and how to handle each one, ‘cause these ain’t no easy fights!
Now, first thing’s first, you gotta be in Act 2 to start seein’ these duels show up. They mostly pop up around the second region, Toyotama, but I’m gonna break it down for you real good, so you won’t be wanderin’ ‘round aimlessly lookin’ for ‘em.

Duel #1: Khotun Khan – Automatically during Main Tale “Prologue”
Ya can’t miss this one. This is part of the story right at the start, during the prologue. You’ll face Khotun Khan himself, the big ol’ Mongol leader. Now, this fight’s more about story progression than skill, but still, it’s a good way to get your feet wet. Don’t go rushin’ in too fast, or you might end up payin’ the price.
Duel #2: Ryuzo – Automatically during Main Tale “Shadow of the Samurai”
Next up, you’ll run into Ryuzo. This one happens during the story, in Act 1. Now, Ryuzo ain’t a simple fight, you gotta be ready for his tricks. He’s quick, and you’ll have to dodge and strike when the time’s right. Don’t get too cocky, or you’ll end up eating dirt.
Duel #3: The Spirit of Yarikawa
This one happens in the Yarikawa area, as part of “The Spirit of Yarikawa’s Vengeance” mission. It’s in the northern part of Tsushima. This duel’s a big deal, and ya gotta be prepared to face a strong opponent. Keep your wits about you, and don’t let your guard down, ‘cause this fella’s not gonna make it easy for you.
Duel #4: The Drowning Marsh
If you make your way to the Drowning Marsh, you’ll find a duel waiting for ya there. This one’s part of “The Six Blades of Kojiro” quest. It’s a pretty tough one, so don’t think you can just stroll in there. Take your time, get your strategy together, and strike when the opponent’s open. It’s all about patience.
Duel #5: Kojiro
Now, the last duel in the bunch is with Kojiro, and it’s probably the hardest one you’ll face. You’ll find Kojiro after you’ve taken on the other four duels, and this fella’s the top dog. It’s gonna take everything you’ve got, so be sure you’re well-prepared. Make sure your gear’s up to snuff, and be ready to dodge and strike like your life depends on it, ‘cause it does.

Now, all these duels ain’t missable, so don’t worry if you miss one or two. You can always come back and find ‘em again. But, ya gotta remember, it’s all about patience. These ain’t regular fights, no sir. You gotta wait for the right time to strike, don’t go rushin’ in like a bull in a china shop. Get greedy with your attacks, and you’ll find yourself flat on your back, I promise ya that.
Each duel is its own challenge, but when you win, you get yourself a nice reward, and a feeling of satisfaction that’s hard to beat. If you want to collect all the duels and get the “There Can Be Only One” trophy, well, you best be ready to put in the work.
In the end, the key to winning all these duels is patience and timing. Ya don’t need to be the fastest or the strongest, just the smartest. Watch for your enemy’s moves, wait for that perfect moment, and strike. Easy to say, but harder to do, huh?
But don’t worry, keep practicing, and you’ll be able to take on any duel that comes your way. And remember, even if it feels like you’re losing, don’t give up. Every duel you win gets you one step closer to being the best.
