Alright, so I’ve been diving deep into Pokémon GO lately, and I got super curious about the Genesect with the Douse Drive. I’d heard some buzz about it, so I wanted to see what the fuss was all about and, more importantly, get one for myself!
First, I did some digging. It’s all about the different Drives for Genesect, right? They change the type of its Techno Blast move. The Douse Drive makes it Water-type, which sounded pretty cool and useful against those Fire-types I’m always battling.
So, my mission started. I knew these special Genesect events aren’t always around, so I kept a super close eye on the Pokémon GO news and announcements. I checked the in-game News tab like a hawk, multiple times a day. I also followed a few Pokémon GO groups on social media to make sure I didn’t miss any whispers.
Then, boom! I saw it. An event announcement featuring Genesect with the Douse Drive. I was stoked! It was going to be appearing in five-star raids. My heart started pumping, this was my chance!
The Raid Grind Begins
- I rounded up my usual raid buddies. We have a group chat where we coordinate, so I messaged everyone, “Douse Drive Genesect! Who’s in?!”
- We planned our raid times, you know, around work and stuff. Gotta adult sometimes, sadly.
- I prepped my best counters. This meant powering up some strong Electric and Grass-type Pokémon. I checked a few websites to confirm the best match ups, just to be super sure. Think lots of high-CP Pokémon with moves.
The raids themselves were tough! Five-star raids are no joke. We had a couple of fails at first, where we just didn’t have enough people or our counters weren’t strong enough. It was frustrating, but we learned from each one.
We tweaked our teams, used different Pokémon, and coordinated our attacks better. The feeling when we finally took one down? Amazing! But, of course, catching it was another story.
I used Golden Razz Berries every time, and practiced my Excellent throws. I swear, my thumb was getting sore from all the curveballs! After a few raids, and a lot of berries and balls, it finally happened. I caught a Genesect with the Douse Drive! I was so pumped, literally jumped up and down.
It wasn’t just about catching one, though. I participated in several raids during the event to try and get a Genesect with good IVs (Individual Values). That’s the hidden stats that make some Pokémon stronger than others. It’s a bit of a grind, but hey, that’s part of the game, right?
Now I have a Douse Drive Genesect, and I’ve been trying it out in battles. It’s pretty awesome against Fire-types, just like I’d hoped. Totally worth the effort!
