Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into the world of CSGO cases lately, trying to figure out which one is the golden ticket. You know, the one that’s most likely to make you some actual profit. It’s been a wild ride, let me tell you.
The Hunt Begins
First, I just started opening a bunch of different cases. Just random ones, whatever I felt like. Yeah, that was a mistake. I quickly realized I was just throwing money away. I mean, I got some cool skins, but nothing that really made up for the cost of the keys.

Getting Smart (or at least trying to)
So, I decided I needed a better strategy. I started looking at case prices and the potential value of the items inside. I used no some fancy websites, just some regular sites that track the prices of CSGO items and I used that to kind of figure out the “expected value” of each case. Expected value is the key item *, it’s like, if you opened a million of these cases, what would the average value of your drops be?
The Experiment
- I picked out five cases that seemed to have the best potential for profit, based on my very scientific research.
- I bought a bunch of keys for each of them (don’t ask how many, it’s embarrassing).
- I opened them all, one by one, holding my breath every time.
- I kept track of every single item I got, and its current market value.
The Results (drumroll please…)
Honestly, it was a mixed bag. Some cases were total duds. Like, I got nothing but cheap blues. Others were surprisingly good! I even got a couple of knives, which was awesome.
After all the opening and calculating, one case did come out on top, though it’s not some kind of magic bullet. It had the best overall return, meaning I lost the least amount of money on it. And hey, in the world of CSGO case openings, that’s basically winning, right?
The Takeaway
My big lesson here is that it’s all a gamble. There’s no guaranteed way to make a profit opening cases. But, if you do some research, and you’re smart about which cases you choose, you can at least improve your odds. And, you know, have some fun along the way. Just don’t go spending your rent money on keys, okay?
I am still opening cases though, because, I enjoy the game!
