Okay, so I wanted to get into Chivalry 2 with my buddies, but we’re all on different platforms. I’m on PC, my friend’s got a PlayStation 5, and another’s rocking an Xbox Series X. We heard about the crossplay feature, but getting a party together across different systems? That sounded like a potential headache. I decided to record my journey from start to realizing it.
I started digging around online. I found a few official-looking articles and some forum posts, but nothing was super clear. Some folks said it was easy, others were complaining about bugs. I chose to trust the official line, hopeful that it would be smooth sailing.

First, I launched Chivalry 2 on my PC. Made sure my game was updated, just in case. Then I went into the in-game social menu. Seems simple enough.
- From the main menu, I looked for a “Social” option.
- Clicked on that, I get a list of my “friends”.
Now, here’s where it got a little tricky. Instead of just inviting them directly, I had to generate a “Party Code”. And send the code my friends.
So I hit the ‘generate code’ button, And a five-character code show up. I texted this code to my friends, the PS5 and Xbox guys. They then had to input this code on their respective consoles.
- My PS5 buddy went into the “Social” menu on his game.
- He found an option to “Join Party” or something like that.
- He punched in the code I sent him.
The Xbox process was pretty much identical. He found the social/party menu, looked for “Join Party,” and entered the code.
Fingers Crossed…
After a few seconds of waiting, boom! We all appeared in the same party lobby. It actually worked! I was surprised at the begin, honestly.
From there, we could queue up for matches together, no problem. We played a few rounds of team deathmatch and objective maps, and it was a blast. The crossplay worked seamlessly. We didn’t experience any lag or connection issues that felt specific to the cross-platform setup.
So, my final thought? Setting up a crossplay party in Chivalry 2 is actually way easier than I initially thought. It’s just about generating a code and having your friends input it on their end. No friend requests or platform-specific accounts needed. Just a simple code and you’re good to go.
