Okay, so I’ve been grinding away at Road to the Show in MLB The Show 24, and I kept wondering, “Can you actually get traded?” I mean, I’m putting up decent numbers, playing my heart out, but stuck on the same team.
So, I started a new RTTS career. This time, I decided to go all-in on a power-hitting first baseman. I figured that would make me a more attractive trade piece, right? Cranked up the difficulty a bit, too, just to make things interesting.

The first season was pretty much what you’d expect. I mashed my way through Double-A, got the call-up to Triple-A, and finished the year strong. No trade, though. Figured it was too early.
Year Two: The Waiting Game
Second season, started in Triple-A again. I was raking. Hitting bombs, driving in runs, playing solid defense. I even made the Futures Game! Still…no trade. I started to get a little frustrated. Like, “Hey, other teams, notice me!”
I started to Simulate a few games. I’m playing and nothing happened. I’m Sim a week and nothing happened. I Sim a month, Still Nothing happened.
What should I do?
Then, BAM! Mid-July, right before the trade deadline, I got the news. Traded! To a contender, no less. It was awesome! Finally, all that hard work paid off.
Lessons Learned
- Be patient: It might not happen right away, but it can happen.
- Play well: Obviously, right? But seriously, put up good numbers. Make yourself desirable.
- Don’t be afraid to sim: Honestly, playing every single game is a grind. Simulate through some of the less important stretches, especially if you’re already dominating.
So yeah, you absolutely can get traded in Road to the Show 24. It just takes time, effort, and maybe a little bit of luck. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a playoff run to chase with my new team!
