Okay, so I’ve been trying to get my Swablu to be, like, actually useful in battles, you know? I mean, it’s cute and all, with those fluffy wings, but it wasn’t really pulling its weight. So, I did some digging and experimenting to figure out the best moveset for this little guy.
First, I caught a bunch of Swablu. Gotta have options, right? I checked their stats and stuff, looking for ones that seemed a bit stronger or faster than the others. No fancy terms here, just plain old looking at the numbers.

Experimenting with Moves
Then came the fun part – testing out different moves! I started with the basics, like Peck. It seemed okay, a pretty standard Flying-type move. I also tried a few others that Swablu learned naturally, just to see what would happen.
- Peck: It’s a basic, decent damage dealer.
- Trying Other Moves: Mostly not great.
I quickly realized that just using the moves Swablu learned on its own wasn’t going to cut it. So I started using TMs – those discs that teach your Pokémon new moves. I experimented with a few different ones, but Aerial Ace really stood out.
The Winning Combination?
After a LOT of trial and error, I think I’ve found a pretty solid moveset: Peck and Aerial Ace. I think it’s a good combination.
Why these two? Well, Peck is a reliable, early-game move, and Aerial Ace, being a Flying-type move too, It always hits, which is super useful against those annoying Double Team spammers!
Now, my Swablu isn’t going to be sweeping any Elite Four teams, The highest CP i could reach is only at 824. but it’s definitely holding its own a lot better in battles. Plus, I’m one step closer to evolving it into Altaria, which is way more powerful. That cotton-ball bird is finally on its way to being a real contender!
