Alright, guys, so I wanted to figure out the absolute best running playbook in Madden 23. I’ve been messing around with different teams and schemes, trying to find that perfect ground game, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey!
Starting My Search
I initially jumped into Play Now mode, just picking random teams with strong running backs. I figured, hey, the Browns with Nick Chubb, the Titans with Derrick Henry – those gotta be good, right? And yeah, they were decent, but I wasn’t feeling that “unstoppable” vibe I was looking for.

Experimenting with Formations
Then, I started digging into the different formations. I spent hours in practice mode, testing out everything from I-Form Tight to Gun Bunch. I wanted to see how the blocking felt, how the running back hit the holes, all that stuff.
- I-Form Tight: Felt powerful, but a bit predictable.
- Gun Bunch: Offered some interesting run-pass options, but the running plays themselves weren’t anything special.
- Singleback Wing Tight: Now this one started to get my attention!
Finding “The One”
So, I stumbled upon the Baltimore Ravens playbook. And let me tell you, that Singleback Wing Tight formation, with all its variations, it just clicked. The way the offensive line moves, the pulling guards, it just creates these massive lanes.
I started experimenting with different running plays within that formation. Inside Zone, Power O, Counter – they all worked like a charm. Plus, the Ravens playbook has some nice play-action passes built-in, which keeps the defense honest.
Putting It to the Test
I took my newfound strategy online, and man, it was a bloodbath. I was gashing defenses left and right. People weren’t used to seeing that much commitment to the run, and they just couldn’t stop it.
I still get beat now and then, of course. It’s Madden, after all! But I can confidently say that the Ravens playbook, with a focus on Singleback Wing Tight, has given me the best running game I’ve ever had in Madden 23. Now I feel much better to play the game.
That is all my experience about how to find the best running playbook, hope you guys have fun!
