Okay, so I finally got around to playing Lethal Company with my buddies, and let me tell you, figuring out the controls on PC was a bit of a scramble at first. So, I thought I’d jot down my experience here, might help some other rookies out there.
Getting Started: The Basic Moves
First things first, I jumped into a game. Movement, thankfully, was pretty standard. I pressed the ‘W’, ‘A’, ‘S’, and ‘D’ keys to move my character forward, left, backward, and right, just like in most games. Took me a few seconds to get used to, It was natural.

Interacting with the World
Then came the tricky part – interacting with stuff. At the beginning I pressed random buttons trying to open the door, then I found out that the ‘E’ key is your best friend. I used ‘E’ to open doors, pick up scrap, and basically interact with anything important. I also quickly learned that the left mouse button lets you use whatever item you’re holding, which is pretty crucial.
Inventory Management
Next up, inventory. I hit the ‘Tab’ key to bring up my inventory. I found out, it wasn’t too complicated. You’ve got four slots, and you can switch between them using the number keys (‘1’ through ‘4’). I learned that dropping items is done with the ‘G’ key. I found that out the hard way when I accidentally dropped my flashlight in a dark hallway. Don’t do that.
Communication is Key
Since Lethal Company is all about teamwork, I needed to figure out the communication stuff. I discovered that the ‘Q’ Key is to use the walkie-talkie, which is essential for coordinating with your team, especially when you’re far apart. I pressed that ‘Q’ Key a lot, so no one got lost.
Scanning for Goodies
Oh, and here’s a neat trick I picked up: scanning. I held down the right mouse button, and my character started scanning the environment. This highlights valuable scrap and other points of interest. Super useful for finding those quotas!
Dealing with Threats
Now, for the not-so-fun part: dealing with monsters. I realized pretty quick that running is often the best option. I used the ‘Shift’ key to sprint. But if you have to fight, remember that left mouse button to use your weapon, I learned this one after a couple of… unfortunate encounters.
Terminal Time
Finally, the ship’s terminal. I walked up to it and pressed ‘E’ to interact. This is where you buy items, view the bestiary and do some other more specific actions. I’m still figuring out all the ins and outs of the terminal, but that’s the basics of it.
So, that’s my * will be a fun adventure with my buddies.
