Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this “Ice Heart” build in Elder Scrolls Online, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I started off completely clueless, just slapping gear together and hoping for the best. Naturally, I got my butt kicked. Repeatedly.
First, I grabbed the Ice Heart monster set. That was the easy part. I mean, who doesn’t want a frosty shoulder piece that looks like it could chill a whole dungeon? I think I ran Veteran Crypt of Hearts I like, a million times. The drop rates are fine, I am just extremly unlucky.

Then came the hard part: figuring out what other sets to pair it with. I scoured the internet, read a bunch of forum posts, and watched some YouTube videos. Everyone had a different opinion, of course. It was information overload!
I tried a few different combinations. Some were okay, some were… well, let’s just say they were learning experiences. I experimented with a set that boosted my critical chance, thinking I’d be freezing enemies left and right with huge crits. Nope. Not enough sustain. Died a lot.
Then I switched to a set that gave me more Magicka recovery. Better, but I still felt squishy. I spent hours tweaking my Champion Points, trying to find the right balance between damage, defense, and recovery. It was a headache, I’m not gonna lie.
Finally, I landed on a combination that felt pretty good. I won’t bore you with all the details (mostly because I can barely keep it straight myself!), but it involved a mix of sets that boosted my damage, my critical chance, and my recovery. And, of course, the Ice Heart set. Don’t forget I spent hours on Champion Points, too!
The Result?
- I’m still not topping any DPS charts, but I can hold my own in most content.
- I can survive a lot more than I used to. That’s a win in my book.
- Freezing enemies solid and watching them shatter is super satisfying.
- I’m still not sure about using it in PvP. The damage is so-so.
So, is Ice Heart the best build ever? Probably not. But is it fun? Heck yeah! I’m still learning and tweaking, but that’s part of the fun of ESO, right? If you’re looking for a build that’s a little different and has a cool (pun intended) visual effect, give it a shot. Just be prepared to put in some work to make it shine. And hey, if you figure out any secret tricks, let me know!
